The white marble surface of the temple and the gilded domes make for a beautiful contrast. It is on the name of the pond that the city of Amritsar is named after.

The Golden temple complex houses world’s largest free mass kitchen (also called langar) feeding thousands of people irrespective of their caste, creed and faith. You can also participate in the kitchen by rolling a few Indian breads.
