Overview

Right next door to Dum Pukht in the ITC Maurya hotel is another of Asia‘s best 50 restaurants: the legendary Bukhara. In contrast to the extravagant Dum Pukht, Bukhara serves its internationally-renowned kebabs in a dining room of clay tiles and bare wood, and dishes appear without cutlery but with bibs. A beacon of culinary excellence across the globe, Bukhara has won innumerable accolades over the years, making it the only globally recognized Indian restaurant and the preferred dining destination of gourmets, presidents and heads of state for over 35 years.

You will be picked up from your hotel/ fixed point within city center and drive to ITC Maullya at 6 pm, after finishing, back to your hotel/fixed point .

Nestled in greenery in the heart of Delhi, ITC Maurya – a premier luxury hotel in the capital city of India, is acknowledged as the preferred ‘Residence for World Leaders and Global Icons’ for over 35 years.

The romance of the rugged North West Frontier comes alive at this authentic, award winning restaurant Bukhara, making it a landmark dining destination in New Delhi. The restaurant’s stone-clad walls and rough-hewn furniture evoke the rustic origins of the cuisine- A key feature on the itinerary of practically every visitor to New Delhi. Bukhara recreates the charm of the traditional clay oven or tandoor with its delicious menu of succulent tandoor-cooked kebabs, vegetables and breads.

Today, Bukhara has perfected the art of cuisine, which is evident in its star dishes - the Bukhara Sikandri Raan, Bukhara Murgh Malai kababs, the iconic Dal Bukhara which is a combination of whole black lentils (urad dal), tomatoes, ginger and garlic, cooked and simmered over slow coal fires of the tandoor overnight for 18 hours at a stretch.

We booked well in advance - and so you should as it is packed and many are turned away at the door. And the door only opens at 19:00 so you will wait with many others until they are ready for you. The food is undoubtedly delicious but do beware. The menu is certainly expensive for this part of the world but be prepared for bill inflation with 9% tax, another 9% tax and on top of that 25% VAT. To be fair the menu does state in small print exclusive of taxes at the bottom of the menu but the price you see is certainly not the price you pay.And that’s before you add in service! Is it worth it? For you to judge but if you need the washroom be prepared for a long long wait for just one cubicle. All a bit unexpected in such a luxury and exclusive environment. So be aware…

Excellent food in the luxurious Bukhara Restaurant of ITC Maurya. The ambience is awesome, the cuisine wonderful and staff is extremely courteous and well behaved. A perfect package. The Front Desk helped in reservations and guidance. Special mention to Ms Garima Bhalla for her cheerful and caring demeanour and professional conduct. Must visit place for special occasions.

Worst experience ever!! There was a girl called " KANIKA". She was at the door of restaurant Bukhara at ITC Maurya. Me and my wife went for lunch at this restaurant. When we arrived at the door, she was on the phone. She kept us waiting for long. She never bothered to say " sorry for the wait" or I'll right be with you". She ignored us like anything. I mean.. This is only a 5 star hotel!! No manners and etiquette whatsoever. There was another restaurant staff member near her there who was free. He was busy talking to the hotel staff walking nearby. Casual talk I might add.. Bantering .. To add insult to injury, he kept on ignoring me and my wife. Then after a long wait, he casually came and finally asked my name and my phone number. He wasn't attending to any guests before .. He was just casually chatting with another hotel employee while me and my wife kept looking at him and waited for his casual chat to finish. What nonsense is this? Don't you people have any manners? Overhyped food!! Wasn't any good especially after the " welcome" at that " 5 star hotel" left a bad taste in my mouth!! Some ITC hospitality!!

Please have a look at attached pics for portions & ambience before booking a table. I heard so much about this place & wanted to experience that personally. But i got so disappointed when I saw my starters portion as compared to the price they charge!!! Paneer tikka 4 pcs worth Rs 2,500 & taste was ok. I had more delicious paneer tikka in small restaurants. Main course portion also surprised me. For a sweet dish, I ordered Kulfi faluda but I guess haldiram’s kulfi is much better. Faluda was too thick & flavour was average!! So if you want to impress someone with the hotel then go but not if you are a good foodie!!! They don't provide the bill & cutlery as well.

The food was awesome. But the service topped it all. COVID safe precautions, personal attention,a complementary cake for my parents anniversary! Bijon took extra care, great service!!! Great ambience!!
