Delhi is the national capital city of India. It’s a symbol of the country’s rich past and thriving present. It’s a cosmopolitan city, with an ancient blend. History is in the air of the Delhi.

The existence of the city is as old as an epic Mahabharata, where the town was known as Indraprastha. Over the centuries, eight more cities came alive adjacent to Indraprastha: Lal Kot, Siri, Dinpanah, Quila Rai Pithora, Ferozabad, Jahanpanah, Tughlakabad and Shahjahanabad. Delhi has been capital of few prominent dynasties, the Tughlaqs, the Khiljis and the Mughals. Delhi is home to architectural wonders created by emperors in the past.

We booked this tour along with an overnight Agra tour with the same company and they kindly arrange everything so that the two tours could fit with our 3-day week-end. Mr Rishi was our friendly and caring driver for the whole week-end and we were guided by Mr Arif Sheikh for our full day in Delhi. Despite the high pollution level, we were able to cover all the spots by our car. It would have been better if we were provided masks for this exceptional situation. Nonetheless Mr Arif was very knowledgeable and informative about the story of the city and the different monuments visited. In the overall, we can just repeat what we've written about the Agra tour, everything was well organised and the timing was perfectly respected with enough time for each spot visited and a final drop off at the airport as requested.

I had a private tour of Delhi with Arif and it was a fantastic experience. As a solo female traveller, I wanted a safe and easy way to see the main sights and this was perfect. Arif was incredibly professional and knowledgeable and gave me lots of interesting information about the places we visited as well as culture and religion in India. He even gave me great advice on a Diwali party outfit when we visited a market! If you're short on time in Delhi, or just looking for a tour that shows you everything then I absolutely could not recommend this more. Everything was fitted to my itinerary, perfectly timed and made for a very enjoyable way to see Delhi (plus Arif knows all the best angles to get good photos at the sights!).

To cover a city as Delhi in a day tour is a challenge. Agra Day Tours and the guide Sheikh Arif did it very well. From the booking interactions, all clear and prompt, to the tour itself. Sheikh Arif covered all the proposed itinerary giving us plenty of information about the places we visited. Both him and the driver were very friendly, and the car as good as well. Sheikh Arif was able to fit some specific visit requests from us, and was very attentive all times. We also used Agra Day Tours for the day trip to Agra, which is in another review.

With the help of our tour guide, Adbul Haadi, we were able to explore Delhi (both new and old) and able to understand its rich history. Culturally diverse and complex. India’s astounding diversity is unique and unparalleled. It’s rich heritage (five thousand years of history), is amongst the oldest in the world. Will definitely recommend Abdul haadi as guide to our friends!
