Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product

Stop At: Taj Mahal, Dharmapuri, Forest Colony, Tajganj, Agra 282001 India

Widely known as the monument to love, the beauty, grandeur of the Taj Mahal is unparalleled. Starting from your hotel in Delhi, it will be a 3-hour ride to Agra. After reaching there before sunrise, you can enjoy the view of Taj Mahal with the backdrop of the rising sun. It will be a view well worth the early morning ride.

Duration: 2 hours

Stop At: Agra Fort Rakabgani, Agra 282003 India

Agra Fort is a historical fort in the city of Agra in India. It was the main residence of the emperors of the Mughal Dynasty until 1638, when the capital was shifted from Agra to Delhi.

Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Tomb of Itimad-ud-Daulah, Yamuna River, Agra 282001 India

The pure white and elaborately carved tomb of Itmad-ud-Daulah conforms to the Islamic style of architecture. The use of arched entrances, octagonal shaped towers or minarets, use of exquisitely carved floral patterns, intricate marble-screen work and inlay work are all representative of the Islamic style. The absence of a dome and the presence of a closed kiosk on top of this building and the use of chhatris (small domed canopies, supported by pillars) atop the four towers (minarets) instead of proper domes are reflective of local influence.

Duration: 45 minutes

Stop At: Mehtab Bagh, Nagla Devjit Etmadpur, Agra India

Mehtab Bagh is a small garden, which lies close to Taj Mahal. This garden is very famous for spotting Taj Mahal from a distance at Sunset. The garden is square shaped and perfectly aligned with the wonder, which is found on the other side of the river.

We customized travel to go to Agra, Delhi and Varanasi. We had 2 elders (80+) with wheelchair requirements and 3 teens. We gave a list of required places we wanted to visit to Amarjeet. He expertly handled all logistics of pickup from airport, travel to hotel and to various sites and local tour guides as well. He personally accompanied us to most places and this was extremely helpful for solving difficult logistics involving weather, wheelchair availability etc. Overall I rate Amarjeet 10/10. There were some differences in ability of local tour guides from place to place - this could be one factor for improvement.

I can't say enough good things about my sunrise tour of the Taj Mahal and Agra in general. Both Vivek the guide and Gurmeet the driver met and exceeded my expectations. Vivek is very knowledgeable and easy to understand as well as get along with. Gurmeet was as efficient a driver as one could hope for. The stops after the Taj Mahal were well worth it and just icing on the cake. If you are going to visit the Taj, sunrise is the time to do it and I couldn't have hoped for a better guide and driver than these two. That being said.... Gurmeet the driver was waiting for me when I walked out the hotel front door at 2:55am for a 3am pickup. Car was extremely clean, comfortable, well cared for and well stocked with water and snacks for the 3 hour ride. It was dark on the way to Agra, Gurmeet let me nap but was more than willing to answer any questions I had. Arrived in Agra at 5:40am and picked up Vivek, my guide for the day. We went straight to the Taj and arrived just before 6am. We were number 6 in line to enter so when it opened up we were able to get some incredible shots of the Taj in predawn light and without a lot of tourists in the foreground. They look like picture postcards or that I am on the grounds all by myself. Vivek was thoroughly knowledgeable about the Taj and made great suggestions about where to get the best shots. He kept a comfortable pace and I wasn't rushed at all. If I had a question he was happy to answer until I understood. By the time we left I felt I had gotten more than my monies worth. In addition to the Taj we visited the Red Fort, Akbars tomb, and Itimad-Ud-Daula's Tomb otherwise known as the baby Taj. At all the stops Vivek gave a thorough and detailed tour but it was never rushed and I was given plenty of time to stop and take pictures or ask questions. Additional stops were at a small shop where I was shown how the semi-precious stones were carved into the marble at these monuments. Also a small souvenier shop where the proceeds benefit the victims of the 1984 Bhopal incident. At both places I was afforded the chance to look around and purchase items but I was never rushed or pushed to buy anything. I felt everything was fairly priced at both locations. Breakfast and lunch were included on the tour, served at two different restaurants. Both places served excellent food and I did not have any nagging worry about having an upset stomach, nor did I. I would recommend both to anyone if they asked. We made an extra stop on the other side of the river where the second Taj Mahal was to be built and got some good shots of the actual Taj Mahal from that location. At the end of the tour, after lunch Vivek excused himself and Gurmeet drove me back to the hotel with no delay. He had extra bottled water in the trunk and made a comfort stop on the way back at my request. Again, 5 stars for these two and a delight to spend the day with. If you are going to Agra to see the Taj, sunrise is the time to do it and you will have a great day if you ask for these two in particular.
