We had an advance reservation and arrived at our time and were allowed in the building. Then we waited for ~45 minutes to go through the security line. During that time, we saw lots of families exit. Little did we know they were abandoning their place in line - they had not actually gotten to go up the tower. Finally we get through security, only to be put into a hot crowded hallway with flashing lights, where it was clear we would be waiting for a long time. After about 30 minutes in the seizure hall, we abandoned our place in line, as the line had not moved. Obviously they are giving out a lot more reservations than they can accommodate, but this was a huge disappointment for our family on our last night in NYC :(

I’m writing this to let you all know that you queue to go up even though you have a time slot - 40 min queue but the worst is coming down 1 elevator for everyone- 1hr 20 queue to get down. This really should be communicated by TOTR before you even contemplate queuing to go up.

Consider avoiding at all cost. I know they say it’s the best view but it’s just not worth the hell they put you through. The lines to get in were horrendous but the worst was trying to leave. Took an hour and a half of waiting for the elevator. They yell the whole time you’re in line to bunch in closer and there isn’t anywhere to go. They treat you like garbage and charge you through the nose. 10 years ago it was a better experience but now it has run its course. Hard avoid especially if you’re traveling with anyone who needs accommodations.

Very expensive for what you get and the queues are very long. 30 mins to get up even though you have booked a time and then even longer to go down. This is an oversold experience. Avoid. There are better places to get a view.
