Overview

It is not completely unexpected to find that the world sets its time by Greenwich and not by Geneva. Whilst Geneva and Switzerland may be producing the vast majority of luxury wristwatches today, this certainly wasn’t always the case.

In 1800 half of the world's watches, around 200,000 pieces a year, were produced on British shores by British watchmakers, which is an incredible statistic.

Another wonderful statistic is that probably over 60-70% of the innovation in a modern-day mechanical watch has come from Britain, including every major escapement design. Bremont's mission has always been to play a part in bringing back watchmaking to British shores.

By having a tour of the Bremont Manufacturing and Technology Centre, you are experiencing the cutting edge of the watchmaking industry as well as the reinvigoration of a lost industry on British soil.

Stop At: Bremont Manufacturing & Technology Centre - "The Wing", The Wing, Reading Rd, Henley-on-Thames RG9 4GE, UK

We are delighted to offer hosted tours of the new Bremont Manufacturing & Technology Centre, aka 'The Wing'. The state-of-the-art 35,000 sq ft facility, set in the heart of the Chiltern Valley, is the veritable home of British watchmaking and Bremont is proud to be at the forefront of the revival of this historically British craft.

Over the 2-3 hour tour, you will learn about the history of watchmaking and how it originated on British shores, learn the internal workings of a watches movement, and all about Bremont's history and impact on the industry.

The tour also includes seeing how the watches are milled in the machining room and what materials it takes, then built, serviced, and tested by the watchmakers, and finally what the end product looks like.

All net proceeds from the tour will be donated to Bremont's nominated charity.

First class experience with the host at the factory. Fitted me with my new watch and answered the many questions and delivered a great run of history to present day and the future vision of the English Brand. I will be back to buy another and to hear about the next part of the story.

Our tour was was more interesting than any regular guided tour as it wasn't didactic. Our guide, Luke , was very engaging and answered all our queries with knowledge and humour in equal measure ! And the beautiful location was an added bonus. So, if you love watches ( and British made Bremont watches are up there with the best in the world), this place is definitely worth a visit. Fun and educational!

Great tour. So nice to see proper british manufacturing taking place. I was amazed at the work that goes into these watches. Our tour guide Tom, was exceptionally knowledgeable about all things watch related, and very easy to listen to. I'd recommend this to anyone interested in watches, manufacturing or even just the history of british watchmaking.

Luke took us for our Bremont tour. It was really insightful, of not only the Bremont brand but Horology in general and delivered with some great English humour. An excellent trip
