Overview

Explore the outside of the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Paris, built between 1874 and 1914 and enjoy the artistic and picturesque village;.
Your guided tour begins with a visit outside the Sacred Heart. Learn about both the exterior and interior of the Basilica from your expert guide. See the largest mosaic in the world, Christ in Majesty, depicting the Sacred Heart of Jesus, worshiped by the Virgin Mary, Jeanne d'Arc, and St. Michael the Archangel. After the Basilica your guide will take you to the village of Montmartre. This neighborhood has always stood apart from the rest of Paris, not just as the large hill in the city’s northern 18th Arrondissement, but as the home to artists, revolutionaries and outsiders who have played an important part in the unique history of Paris.
These streets hold wild stories and a unique perspective around every corner and the Place du Tertre is one of the most famous squares of Paris. There is no neighborhood more magical than Montmartre.

The guide did not show up. We were at the stated meeting place at 3:50 pm for a 4pm tour. Another couple was waiting there as well. We all waited until 415 pm . The guide did not show so we walked around ourselves.

We spent an amazing morning seeing th Basilica and the areas around it. Our tour guide was so informative and we learned a lot. This is a great way to see this area I highly recommend it.

I think the tour guide makes your tour and Julien did not disappoint! The tour consisted of my husband and me and one other couple. Julien started off by giving us the history of Sacre-Coeur. He then brought us into the church and was very respectful of the request for silence. He pointed out several things and had notes on his phone for us to read. He also walked us through Montmartre and gave us so many factoids. We really enjoyed this tour and highly recommend!

Our tour guide was a nice lady, who walked us around a small area of Montmarte. But she was very clear that she was not going to be able to go into the Cathedral because of the continuous worship. Then we found out that entrance to the church was FREE! Our guide just talked about the history of this iconic location for all the early artists, and the (bloody) history of the area and reason for the church. She was good, and knowledgeable. But we were not that excited about all the stories. We may have enjoyed it more by more leisurely walking around the area, or taking the little tourist train (for a lot less money)

We had a special private tour. So we had the full attention of the tour guide. He was very friendly and showed us secret places where it's best to eat and what we can expect at which place.
