Overview

For such a tiny island, Île de la Cité has a lot of stories to tell. It’s where Paris was first settled, where some of the city’s greatest dramas were acted out, and where the most beautiful buildings were constructed.

Find out how this tiny island became the center of one of Europe’s most vibrant cultures with this fascinating walking tour of Île de la Cité and the heart of Paris. See the site of Notre Dame from the courtyard, which still stands proud after the recent fire, and observe the ongoing restoration.

From there, it's a short walk to two historic monuments awaiting your discovery. With pre-reserved tickets, you'll enter the Conciergerie, famous for having the prison cell that once held Marie Antoinette, as well as Paris' most beautiful church, Sainte Chapelle.

Finally, experience Paris from a different vantage point on an idyllic 1-hour Seine River Cruise.

Of all the tours we went on through our years of travelling, this was easily one of the best tours we ever had and this was thanks to Adam. He certainly has the knowledge, he definitely has the passion but more than anything else he knows how to tell a story. He makes it so engaging that he had the entire group hanging on his lips. He balances key dates with anecdotes to make big events memorable and History vivid. He does take you right back in time! We thoroughly enjoyed the tour with him and if it wasn’t for the fact that we were leaving the next day, we would have booked the other tour with him on the French Revolution. We highly recommend!

This was one of the best tours I’ve been on and Adam was just terrific. I learned so much Sainte Chapelle and the Conciergie. It was also really nice to see the exterior of Notre Dame.

Adam’s storytelling was amazing - it was the first time I didn’t zone out during a 3-hour period, which happens to me quite often! Did not at all feel like a lecture, and questions were encouraged. Even beginners in history can follow, as it did not feel intimidating. Amazing part of Paris to discover, fun stories, wonderful delivery…you will not be bored!
