You will meet your guide in Place Renè Viviani, a beautiful green area lying on the banks of the river Seine. Pass By: Latin Quarter, 75005 Paris France

This is where you will begin your exploration, admiring some of the city's medieval districts before you reach the Latin quarter. History will be brought to life thanks to the experience and know-how of your kid-friendly guide as you learn about the district's fascinating origins.

You will take a stroll down some the oldest parts of Paris, with quaint narrow streets leading you to pretty little squares lying in the shadows of towering monuments. Then you will arrive in the Latin Quarter itself, well-known for its student population and vibrant atmosphere.

Pass By: La Sorbonne, Paris France

The Latin Quarter is the home to a number of higher education institutes, and takes its name from the fact that during the Middle Ages, students of the nearby Sorbonne University spoke exclusively in Latin.
You will be shown the area's principle landmarks and attractions, including the aforementioned Sorbonne University. The institution was founded in the 13th century, and played a vital role in Paris becoming the nation's capital.

Pass By: Square Paul-Langevin, 20 rue Monge, 75005 Paris France

As well as the attractive Place Paul-Langevin, a pretty green space lined by magnificent magnolia trees, the Latin Quarter is also home to a number of Roman remains.

Pass By: Arenes de Lutece, 49 rue Monge Rue de Navarre, 75005 Paris France

One such place is the Arènes de Lutèce, an arena that used to hold 15,000 people and which was also used as an amphitheatre in order to host gladiatorial combat. This is one of the city's most significant ancient Roman sites, and a visit to the Latin Quarter really isn't complete without seeing it.

Stop At: Eglise Saint-Etienne-du-Mont de Paris, 6 Place Sainte Genevieve, 75005 Paris France

The tour then proceeds onto the Saint-Etienne du Mont Church. An impressive building, the church presents an unusual style of architecture which dates back to a transitional period between flamboyant Gothic and Renaissance. This unique structure is not merely a tourist attraction, it is also an important destination for pilgrims as well as being a fully operational Catholic church. Among the important things to see inside is the shrine dedicated to Saint Genevieve, the Patron Saint of Paris. Furthermore, you will be amazed by the rood screen, splendidly carved panels and a sequence of magnificent stained glass windows in the ambulatory and chancel, dating back to the 16th and 17th centuries.

Stop At: Pl. du Pantheon, 75005 Paris France

You will round off the tour by visiting one of the most popular tourist attractions in Paris, the Panthéon. A fantastic example of Neoclassical architecture which gained popularity in the 1700s, its facade is based on that of the Pantheon in Rome. Moreover, it is crowned by a small dome which bears more than a passing resemblance to St. Paul's Cathedral in London. It is the final resting place of many celebrated French historical figures, such as Victor Hugo, Marie Curie and Alexandre Dumas, and another reason it is such a much-loved attraction in Paris is that it provides wonderful panoramic views across the city. You will be able to spot all of the most famous monuments in Paris from here, so keep your camera close to hand so you can take some truly memorable souvenir photos!
