Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product

Stop At: Loire Valley, Loire Valley

Marvel at the Loire Valley's opulent châteaux and taste its famous locally-made wine during this full-day tour from Paris.

Duration: 2 hours

Stop At: Chateau de Chambord, le Chateau, 41250, Chambord France

From Paris, you’ll head first to Château de Chambord. Disney fans will find this castle’s turrets familiar; it was the inspiration for the castle in ‘Beauty and the Beast’. Though originally conceived as a royal hunting lodge, it was built to a scale that must be seen to be believed. You’ll learn all about the castle’s captivating history from your guide, before getting your own chance to explore. Climb a staircase supposedly designed by Da Vinci; enjoy spectacular turret-framed rooftop views; glimpse wild deer around the grounds; and work up an appetite for the next stop.

Duration: 1 hour 15 minutes

Stop At: Blois, Blois, Loir-et-Cher, Centre-Val de Loire

Having worked up an appetite, we'll get back on the bus and on to our next stop - the quaint town of Blois, where you’ll get some free time to enjoy lunch in one of the restaurants located around the beautiful and vibrant Square Louis XII or grab a bite and visit the Royal castle of Blois on your own, notable for its unique mix of Medieval, Gothic, Renaissance and Classical architecture. This Royal castle once was the home of kings Louis XII and François I and presents a tragic history, as the place where Joan of Arc went to be blessed by the Archbishop of Reims before departing with her army to drive the English from Orléans.

Duration: 1 hour 45 minutes

Stop At: Chateau Royal de Blois, 6 Place du Chateau, 41000, Blois France

During the lunch stop in Blois, you may want to visit on your own this Royal Castle

Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: Chateau de Chenonceau, 37150 Chenonceaux France

Last but not least is a visit to the elegant Château de Chenonceau for wine tasting. The chapel, bedrooms and magnificent vaulted kitchens are still furnished and decorated from times gone by, showing off the castle’s many sweeping stone carvings. Don’t miss the impressive main hall, which spans the river Cher, or the gardens cultivated by Diane de Poitiers and Catherine de Medici – two of the famous owners that earned Chenonceau the nickname ‘the Ladies’ Château’. After a guided tour, you’ll have a choice: continue exploring, or indulge in a second wine tasting in the castle’s vaulted wine cellar.

Three uniquely beautiful castles, good food and wine, all amid the scenery of the Loire Valley: this tour is a feast for the senses.

The tour guide was very friendly helpful and made the trip entertaining. He was a greatest assistant to a lot of the travelers when they needed help ordering food or finding their way around period

The castle is beautiful and grounds are amazing. A must see. The Loire area is very inviting and an easy trip from Paris.

We enjoyed this tour day. We were glad we did it before Versaille, because no other castle measures up once you see that, but the two included in this tour are great to visit. I knew what to expect and I realize there is limited time, so I am not complaining, but it would be nice to have more time to spend in the castles. I'm not sure how you could improve this given the travel time constraints, except maybe to do them on your own outside of a tour. However, if you want a taste of the Loire Valley and to see some amazingly historical castles, this is a great option. The castles and the landscape were lovely and the history was interesting. The "tour" commentary is really only on the bus along the way, and both of our tour guides were friendly and told some fun historical annecdotes about Chambord and Chenonceaux, but don't expect them to be showing you around the rooms. You can easily navigate these on your own, though. I was a bit annoyed that there was "no bathroom" on the bus. I put that in quotes because come to find out, there WAS a bathroom, but it was kept locked. That doesn't seem right give the description somewhere mentioned the bathrooms, and the travel time, especially with traffic on the way back, can be long. The wine tasting shouldn't be your deciding factor, as it is enjoyable and informative, but isn't much of the day. It is more like a nice "extra". The town of Blois that we visited for lunch is adorable, but I can't imagine there being time to go to that castle on your own and still be able to eat. Twice we had to wait for people to come back at the meeting time to leave, which is not the tour company's fault, but does impact the timing of your visits, so it is something else to think about when deciding if a tour is the way to go or trying to see these on your own. In general we enjoyed it and found it a good value for the amount of time and the things we saw. I was glad we did it at the start of our trip, as I think I would have liked it less after seeing Versaille and the Louve, etc. If we had been in the Paris area any less than the 5 days we spent, I don't think I'd use the time for this instead of all of the other things to see in Paris.

My most memorable experience was the self tours of the 2 chateaus. The town we stopped for lunch had many good options for food.
