What Can You Expect?

Learn how to enjoy French food with François. François is a world-renowned food expert, from Le Cordon Bleu of Julia Child to his own Champagne. He will explain to you during a full lunch or dinner the history of dishes you will select from onion soup to snails or foie gras. The best cheeses and wine will complement the tasting. The venue is the restaurant of the former chef of the National Assembly and of the former director of three Michelin stars such as the Jules Verne of the Eiffel Tower. François is Oenologist, and you will be able to ask all questions about French wines.

This food tour was different than other food tours we’ve taken. It was more of a gourmet food & wine tasting. We only went to two places and sat down to eat at both locations. We had foie gras and escargot from one location along with macrons and chocolate that came from elsewhere. We had steak at the other location. Both tastings included wine or non-alcoholic option. François was incredibly knowledgeable and we learned a lot. I think the tour could be described a little better, so people know not to expect the multi-stop little tastings that most people think of as a food tour. The tour seemed a little pricey for what we got.

The food and wine were absolutely excellent. The cheese was phenomenal and the foi gras was to die for. We enjoyed the stories by Francois and the lively conversation. Very fun evening!

Francois was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and an absolute delight. We learned a lot about the origin and history of French food and wine. The owner of Le Paris Paris cafe provided us with a wonderful lunch. My only regret is that a dessert wasn't added to the menu experience.

Francoise gave my fiance and I an intimate tour in St. Germaine. He took us around where the locals would go so off the beaten path of tourists. He treated us to amazing eclaires and chocolate mouse, and taught us about the history of the area. Plus, we got to experience French cuisine essentials at a popular lunch spot and another restaurant equivalent to a Michelan Star restaurant without the 3 hour dedication. We would recommend this food tour to anyone looking for this type of experience!

Francois was a great and knowledgeable guide. It turned out to be a private tour for my wife and me which was terrific. He asked us if we had likes, dislikes, and dietary restrictions/allergies a week before the tour. He showed us places we would not have found on our own, like wine and cheese in a cave-like space. And he took advantage of the Rugby World Cup by taking us to the areas with sports bars, but still had superb food. This was more than just tasting. We had a lot of food. A great experience and we’re glad we did it early in our trip.
