Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product

Stop At: Palace of Versailles, Place d'Armes, 78000, Versailles France

The Palace of Versailles in true royal fashion. As your guide shows you around a carefully curated selection of the palace’s 700 rooms, you’ll hear stories of the Sun King, Louis XIV, his successors, their queens, mistresses, and courtiers – including Marie Antoinette and other notable figures. Versailles had its heyday in the 17th and 18th centuries, when the Sun King elevated Louis XIII’s humble hunting lodge into the official seat of the French court – and 300 years later, the palace has lost little of its glamorous excess.

Duration: 2 hours

Stop At: The Hall of Mirrors, Chateau de Versailles, 78000, Versailles France

Visit the breathtaking Hall of Mirrors inside Versailles while our passionate English-speaking guide marvels you with stories of the excesses of royal life, peaking under the Sun King, Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette.

Duration: 5 minutes

Stop At: The Royal Chapel, Inside the Chateau Chateau de Versailles, 78000, Versailles France

Visit the opulent Royal Chapel during your tour of the Palace of Versailles.

Duration: 5 minutes

Stop At: Jardins du Chateau de Versailles, Place d'Armes A l'Ouest du Château de Versailles, 78000, Versailles France

The Gardens of the Palace of Versailles were designed by master gardener André Le Nôtre and court painter Charles le Brun, not as a respite from the palace, but as an extension of it – with every bit as much opulence (and intrigue) as the interior. Depending on the day, your tour of the Gardens may include the Musical Fountain Show (where fountains dance in perfect time to classical music) or Musical Gardens (where music accompanies your tour through the idyllic glades).

This tour is great! Though it happened on a day when rain does not seem to stop, thus, we did not enjoy the garden. We started the tour with Ashley, who met us at the Exit of Invalides Metro until we met Martha at the Versailles Palace. But Ashley did not wait for the entire group to enter the gate, most of us struggle to look for her. It was raining, so some of us bought umbrellas upon reaching the palace gate, and then we cannot find Ashley right away. We tour the palace with Martha, she was good in her job. We are not really fond of history, but she has the talent to make us listen to her and understand the History behind all the paintings, decors and everything in the palace. Too bad, we were not really able to explore the garden because of the rain. We were instructed to meet the bus driver at 1:50-2:00pm, we waited under the rain because the bus is not in the parking area. Versailles palace is a must visit for those coming to France, i can still recommend this tour.

Martha was an excellent tour guide she was very knowledgeable about the history and was informative without being boring. Always making sure everyone in the tour had a wonderful experience. The bus ride was comfortable and on time .

Our tour guide Martha was superb. She spoke clearly and in a easy way to understand and follow the historical context of all that she presented to the group.

The palace and the gardens are beautiful This tour doesn’t give you enough time to see the garden. Is impossible to see it in one hour your are rush to go back. Then you have a option to buy a ticket to go around in a train, waste of money you don’t see anything.

It all started out as it should. We met the guide at the designated location and boarded a small bus. That’s where the problems began. The bus was blisteringly hot and the a/c was not on. The guide kept telling us that the a/c was on but clearly it wasn’t. As a matter of fact the driver had his window open. While on the bus I called the company to complain and then miraculously the a/c went on. The guide at the palace was excellent and that part was great. We were told to be at the pickup spot 15 minutes before departure. Departure was at 6. 5:45 everyone was there. No bus. 6 o’clock. No bus . It didn’t arrive until 6:10. I strongly recommend that the CityGuides contract with a different bus company.
