We waited for almost an hour on the way up and over 30 minutes on the way down, standing the whole time. The views are nice at the top but there’s nothing much to do- a few short walking trails that are paved. Totally not worth it.

The staff operating the Funicular Ride has no concern for safety at all. Each cabin can seat about 6 to 8 people, and safely tale another 3 standing. When we were there on 19 Nov, the staff squeezed an average of 15 to 17 per cabin. The funicular could not move; jerking upwards and downwards. In the end, the staff asked some people to step out if the funicular to reduce its weight. If they cannot get it right after operating for so long, the staff should be FIRED!!! Imagine the horror if the ride dropped downwards while it is in the middle going of going up.

Amazing views. Some interesting attractions at the top of the hill. The ride gets very busy and the few seats available are snapped up quickly. So I'd advise you to get there early.

While the view is spectacularly amazing, I hate to highlight on the overpriced fees for most tourist attraction places. Express lanes will cost you a lot. Not only you have to pay for the gondola's journey, you must also pay to visit the Habitat areas at a whoopin 60 for adult fee. If you're coming here with your family and kids, do not forget to bring your thick wallet. Aside from that, basically any activities and anything else you want to do up there will costs you money. Drone enthusiast can forget about taking spectacular views from above. Its nonsensely prohibited. Don't even let me start with the customer service. Of course there are a lot of visitors from local and other countries, that does not mean you have to be rude and work with zero passion. Also, goodness, so many political flags which jeopardizes the view and also the perspective of tourists coming here. Good luck and plan your travels well.

Massively overated and overpriced. You have to pay 80rm per head for the funicular if you don’t want to queue for 1,5 hours both ways. Don’t even try going in with a stroller, stairs are everywhere and do you think the staff would help? No not a finger moved if you ask them… On the way back, there were lots if old people onboarding slowly and the driver just came down and start shouting at the elders because the they were too slow… Basically you are paying to carry your stroller through the stairs to get crammed in the funicular then get shouted at by the driver… if you happen to pay the regular price you will also queue for 3 hours… Once up there, you get charged again for everything, 60 to 80rm per head to do any visits… Worst experience in Penang…
