Join us for arguably the most beautiful balloon ride in the world!  Experience the ultimate activity in the Valley of Assisi, only a two hour drive from Rome and Florence.  The area is literally dotted with Roman and Medieval villages surrounded by vineyards and olive groves. A true fest for the eyes and the soul.  We are fortunate to take off in sight of one of the most revered sites in Italy: Assisi.  You will be in the best of hands: our pilot, Captain Peter is the most experienced balloon pilot in Italy.  Finish your experience on a high note with a wine tasting and a sumptuous Umbrian breakfast at Cantina Dionigi.

Cantina Dionigi is a winery where we meet all passengers in the morning. We also return to Cantina Dionigi after the flight for the breakfast and wine tasting.

I almost canceled several times out of anxiety. However, I could not have anticipated the ease of lifting up and watching the transport vehicle grow smaller beneath me. Was a slow ascent, like a child’s balloon drifting upward. The day was glorious, the views were amazing and I felt prepared by our pilot. His transparent informative manner of educating us regarding the ways of the wind, the speed of travel, the altitude, etc. helped us feel that we were in expert hands. It was a delight to look across at Assisi and then later even far above it when he took us to the highest elevation. He pointed out several of the surrounding towns and answered all questions, including my curiosity regarding the fields of solar panels. The landing was pretty soft and we had been prepared for how to maneuver so I felt well cared for. Our brunch was in a lovely setting . At my table I met a family from Malta and was seated next to Peter, our pilot. Was a lively conversation! The opportunity to venture down to the barrels and hear about their wine production process was fascinating. And wow, that 40 euro bottle of wine…if I had room in my luggage I would have purchased several bottles. And I’m not generally much of a fan of wine. Best choice I made and stuck with. One of the high points of my trip.

The views were amazing! We took so many photos! Captain Pete is so experienced which puts you at ease with no fear! Met wonderful people from All over! The breakfast afterwards was a perfect ending to a beautiful morning balloon ride! It was at a beautiful winery served was Prosecco, fruit, assorted cheeses and meats with bread and tomatoes! Then comes the wine tasting then a tour of the winery! Just lovely!

Early morning start on a clear July morning in the beautiful Umbria countryside - the start of an amazing adventure. We watched as the huge, multi-coloured balloon was fully inflated and took off with Peter as our highly-skilled pilot. Flying low to start with so we touched the tops of the trees below and could hear the bird song, we soon rose to 6,500 feet to try and pick up a breeze. We could see for miles all around and Peter kept us all entertained, both with his anecdotes and with his knowledge of the country we were drifting over. With only a slight breeze, the flight ended up much longer than the hour originally planned, in fact we were airborne for nearly two whole hours. Picking an appropriate landing site in those conditions wasn’t easy and at one point the wind kept pushing us back over the motorway. Peter was an amazing pilot though and eventually found an empty field for a textbook landing. The excitement of the flight was followed by a delicious breakfast and wine tasting - wonderful Italian antipasti and fresh fruit. The entire experience couldn’t have been better and we could not have been in safer hands than with Peter. I would highly recommend this as an amazing all round experience
