Guimarães, the birthplace of the nation and a UNESCO World Heritage site, exudes a medieval atmosphere with its 10th-century castle and 15th-century Ducal Palace. A stroll through the heart of the city's streets and squares will immerse you in the palpable charm and rich history of Guimarães. During our visit, we'll explore the imposing castle, admire the majestic Dukes of Bragança Palace, and wander through the historic center.

After a relaxing lunch break included in the tour, we'll continue our journey to Braga, known as the oldest Portuguese city and the religious capital of Portugal. For centuries, Braga has been a prominent archiepiscopal seat and pilgrimage site. Our exploration of Braga will include a visit to its 11th-century Cathedral, followed by a tour of the Bom Jesus Sanctuary, a UNESCO World Heritage site nestled in the scenic hills surrounding the city.

Great tour. Very informative and beautiful area. Our guide, Jose, is so knowledgeable about the history and importance of the area and the people that influenced Portugal. Castles and churches, all so beautiful. Nice small group. A great lunch. Highly recommend.

What a lovely experience! João was our guide and he explained everything to about the places and history. We are an American-Brazilian family so he explained in both languages to us (EN&PT). Our lunch place was also delicious!! Experience 10/10.

Our tour guide was very professional, knowledgeable, and attentive to the groups needs. The whole tour went great! My favorite part of the tour was our time spent in Guimarães! Thank you for a wonderful trip!

I would not recommend this tour. The tour was rushed, the food was bad and we were charged for tickets that were not needed. We had thought the focus of the trip was to be Braga, but we spent more time in Guimarães. Our guide said that was because Braga was busy because of Easter Monday, but we would've preferred experiencing that more - at least the option should've been given to us. We had lunch in Guimarães where we were given a very limited menu. I won't mention the restaurant because I don't think the quality of the food was totally the fault of the restaurant, but the fault of the tour company that chose to give us a very limited menu. The decision to have lunch at this restaurant may have been part of the reason we spent more time in Guimarães instead of Braga. The food, in out experience, was some of the worst we've had in any tour we've taken in the past. This may have been due to the limited menu but we are not sure. By the time we arrived at Braga, it was around 2pm and we were told that we had to leave by 4pm because of the traffic back to Porto. The description on the site for the tour was supposed to include tickets to the monastery and Cathedral, but because it was Easter week, the entrance was free for us. So I am not sure why we were charged for this. The trip didn’t seem to be for our experience, but just to check off boxes for the tour company to say it did things. The company should seriously look into improving its service.
