You will discover the forest and nature at the "Serras do Porto" park. Leave the noise and stress of the city behind and enter in a natural park where you can hike in the mountains, just beside river, cross suspended bridges and visit ancient villages inhabited by only 5 people.

In this perfect bucolic landscapes we will stop for a picnic with traditional products, cheese, fruit, and beverage, including local wine if desired.

During the walk it's usual to see the shepherd and his sheep.

Feel embraced by the nature, this peaceful place where you only hear the relaxing sound of the river and the birds!

Don't forget to bring your camera as you will take amazing photos.

Starting point. A short trip to the station close to the Porto hills park.

Return to Sao Bento station.

    I am so glad I included this activity during my time in Porto! It's a beautiful route with tasty food and in my case, great company. The hike itself is not too challenging, but it's still interesting with lots of different things to see and varied types of terrain. The timings work well, particularly if you don't have long in Porto and still want to do something else in the afternoon. Ricardo clearly loves his job and that makes a huge difference. He's super friendly, and his dog Shy is a wonderful companion during the trip. I'll definitely be recommending this to anyone I know visiting the area.

    It's totally worth going for this event. The guide Ricardo is a very cool guy, and he arrived with his beautiful dog, which ended up the star of the show. It's a very pleasant hike where you get to see the beauty in nature just outside Porto. It is not a fast-paced trek, so it's definitely good for people of all ages, and the guide was always making sure we're ok with his pace. This opportunity cannot be missed because apart from the many scenic views, you also get the opportunity of a picnic at the end. It's a wonderful experience to sit down and relax, savouring local traditional food and absorbing the nature around. All in all, it was a fantastic experience and would not hesitate to re do it.

    Ricardo led a great hike and is very friendly! We had an awesome time. The length of the experience was perfect. The hike itself was moderate in difficulty; the path was rocky and required careful steps, but it was a genuine experience and well worth the price.

    Overall great experience! We met with Ricardo and his lovely dog Xai at São Bento from where we took a short train ride to our destination. Started with a Welcome drink and off we went to see beautiful nature with stunning views. Ricardo is a fun guy with many stories to tell but also interested in his guests. He is always helpful and offering options to alter the route to make sure all guests have a fun and save experience. We finished with a nice picnic with green wine and some portuguese specialites. Communication in advance was also easy and fast. Highly recommend this experience, specially of you are on a short city break but still would like to see some nature.

    Our guide Ricardo was excellent and really was concerned about our safety and comfort level with our hike. We saw some of the most beautiful sites, waterfalls, caves, picturesque views. We went at a great pace and ended up at a very local pub/restaurant that served authentic Portugese food, green wine, and the ambiance was to match the occasion. Thankyou for such great memories!!
