Overview

A local guide will be waiting for you at the meeting point with an orange umbrella. We will take you on a journey through the best wines of Portugal. This includes port wine, Portugal's most famous product. During this tour, you and other enthusiasts will taste Port wine, Douro wine, and Green wine. You will visit Fonseca Port Wine cellar, including 2 port wine tastings, and then, go to two wine houses to taste 3 samples of Douro Wine and one of Green Wine. Your tastings are complemented by traditional Portuguese snacks, cheeses, and smoked meats.

We'll walk to Gaia city to visit the cellar and come back to Porto to go to the bars/restaurants for the rest of the tasting. This way, you'll have the opportunity to see the best viewpoints of both cities. Bring comfortable shoes and get ready for some walking.

Catarina was likeable, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. She kept the group in good spirits throughout the tour as well providing recommendations of food to try and places to visit. The tour is mainly about sampling Port and wine rather than sightseeing and we got to sample six different drinks and learn about them. The only problem was that I had booked the 2pm trip which was postponed due to staff absence. We were rescheduled for 4pm which meant we had to change our plans for that day. However, this unexpected inconvenience did not spoil our enjoyment.

The tour was good I felt that the tour guide was good but not great . He seemed to just be there to guide us between the three venues . He didnt really point out things of interest en route . But the visit to Quintas dos Corvos was great .

The wine tour was really good, the tour guide Daniella was fabulous- very informative and helpful. The wine and port at the different places was lovely. No pressure to purchase anything. Had a fab Tim would recommend.
