We specialise in servicing the Cromwell to Clyde Lake Dunstan Trail with return shuttle. Not to mention an experience you won't forget.
The most popular and scenic 42km ride is to start from our depot at the Cromwell Heritage Precinct and finish at the Clyde Heritage Precinct. Then enjoy a relaxing shuttle ride back to the start in Cromwell.
A large part of the trail is in remote terrain with some challenging grade 3 sections and are only suitable for experienced riders and are not recommended for most children under 12 years old. Our bike hire fleet includes our own custom built high-spec LLEVANT E-Mountain bikes, featuring the powerful but intuitive Shimano E8000 250w E-Mountain bike system with Shimano 11 speed gears, 630wh battery to give you plenty of range to enjoy the trail, Rockshox front suspension fork and dropper seat posts to make your Lake Dunstan Trail ride more enjoyable and safer.
We also have AVANTI Competitor 11 speed and TREK Roscoe 10 speed standard mountain bikes.

    I can't say enough positives about my experience with renting a mountain bike from Rod to ride the Dunstan trail. I rented bikes from four other places during our visit to NZ and my experience with Rod stands far above every other rental. Rod made sure the bike fit was perfect for me, provided supplies in case of a breakdown, panniers that could hold my personal belongings and clear directions for my ride. I finished earlier than anticipated and the end location was at a delicious restaurant where you could sit outside and continue to enjoy the day. Rod was there early and collected the bike. The ride itself was exceptional, so much to see along the way. Thank you, Rod, for a day of great memories!!

    I txt Rod the day before my hopeful bike rental asking whether I could book an e-bike to complete the Lake Dunstan trail for the following day. Rod responded positively within 5 minutes and followed up with an excellent and very detailed email describing my options. Met Rod the next morning in Cromwell and he took time to explain the workings of an e-bike to myself who had not been on a bike for nearly 60 years!! The e-bike was a revelation, responsive and a dream to ride, feeling very safe and stable. First stop at Carrick Winery for an excellent flat white then off to Clyde stopping frequently to take in the marvellous views and occasionally reaching speeds of45 kms/hour on the bike. On arrival at Clyde I txt Rod, had a leisurely lunch and Rod picked me up some 20 mins later to take me back to Cromwell - a very enjoyable and memorable day and one that I highly recommend.

    Rod runs a safe and quality ship. Organised a day ride to Clyde with shuttle back to Cromwell. Timings all very relaxed on the track, with views & trails to be remembered for their spectacle and ease of navigation. Clear safety briefing as we were ‘e’ first timers. Once underway for a few kms & intuition kicked in no worries. Food and coffee available on the track, & other track users were very well behaved making the day one to remember. Find the time to do this ride.
