Fear Factory Queenstown offers you a real life horror experience.
Challenge yourself and your friends to walk the dark hallways of Queenstown's newest adrenalin-pumping experience.

You walk through our haunted hallways at your own speed, following a trail of red lights, but one thing you will learn very quickly as well as a maze we are a live action haunted house.

The tour is best enjoyed with friends, although a few brave souls have ventured in alone and lived to tell the tale!

Your fears are brought to life within the dark passageways - so if you choose to 'Chicken-Out' you will be added to Fear Factory Queenstown's growing Chicken List.

Fear factory Queenstown is geared towards adults, but children will survive with a parent or guardian (under 15's must always be accompanied by an adult).
The experience lasts approximately 30 minutes.

Queenstown is the home of New Zealand’s scariest Haunted House! Based in Beach Street, in the CBD, we offer a real, live-action horror experience

Challenge yourself and your friends to walk the dark hallways of the old Lockhart Hotel…fun and frights await!

Who knows who - or what! - you’ll meet, as you follow the trail of red lights through the old hotel passageways.

Fear Factory is best enjoyed with friends, although a few brave souls have ventured in alone and lived to tell the tale!

Your deepest fears are brought to life within our haunted corridors - and if you choose to ‘Chicken Out’ you will be added to our growing Chicken List of 30,000 souls in the last 10 years!

Our experience is aimed at adults, but older children are welcome accompanied by a parent or guardian.

The tour takes approximately 30 minutes.

    We booked the scare factor as two family groups with kids, there were 6 that did it in total. It costs $150 all up with a bookme discount (so much cheaper than reg price). One of the kids called chicken (code word to get out) 30 secs into the experience, the lights went on and the whole group was escorted out. The other 5 people had to repay again to redo it, some decided they didnt want to pay again so 2 of them redid it. We though considering it was literally the first part and had been under 1 min inside the experience that requiring repayment for the rest of the group wasnt fair. When the other 2 of the group re did it, they loved it but it took them 7 mins in total to get from start to finish. They loved it but the repaying put a massive damper on it, especially considering we were the only ones there. I think they need to reconsider the repaying and making the entire group leave if 1 person wants out. All in all we spent over $200 for 2 people for 7 mins. Another thing is perhaps do them in smaller groups so you dont have the experience we had.

    Fun outing in Queenstown that resulted in us going to the Fear Factory. Had a fun time and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I recommend and will definitely go again :)

    Went with family (incl teens). Fear kicked in for a couple of them and were terrified. Brilliant. We had so much fun, I laughed the whole way through. Very quick, but also great entertainment

    This was awesome! My friend is really into horror movies and I'm up for anything so off we went, not knowing how much of a thrill we were in for. Something totally different to do that will have you talking about it to your mates for ages.

    If you lean into this experience it is amazing. We all decided not to overthink it and allow ourselves to be scared.if you think yourself too cool and cynical then this is probably not for you. If however you are prepared to be a kid again then go for it. Our advice… put the most frightened person at the front.
