The directions and signs are very clear and if you have doubts you can always use the map or look at the location on the map that’s on some of the signs. The e-bike helps a lot and it’s very easy to use. Beautiful sights, totally worth it

The scenery from Arrowtown to lower Shotover were amazing, this was our favourite part. I had been expecting that there were options to be picked up at different points along the way, but this didn't seem to be the case with our package, and I definitely would have upgraded to an ebike to do the full 35km if I'd known this.

It was well organised and the shuttle got us to Arrowtown. The E-bike choice was very good for us on the day as there are short sharp hills and very edgy corners; its advisable to have mtn bke experience to do this ride. We ride regularly usually on gravel bikes and found it challenging at times. The Tucker beach extension was not very well signaged if you take it and beware as they are spraying rabbit poison all along the track which you are not forewarned about either. I would not take this choice again and believe we should have been forewarned. the Kelvin peninsula extra kms option also is narrow path used for walkers and loose dogs as well as cyclists. Some parts have large exposed rocks which you either dodge or ride over leaving only about 12 inches on the side of the path tipping to waters edge. In our experience you really need mtn biking exp to take this path as well. you really need most of the day to do it if you want to stop and take photos and have lunch somewhere too. Overall a great day but our advice is take the e-bike choice and have a little experience navigating corners and wear appropriate biking shorts as you will need them.

A long day from Arrowtown to Gibbston, back along the lake to Queenstown - 60km+/ 6 hours+, but on E-bikes, no problems. We've used Around the Basin 4 or 5 times now and they have never disappointed. Excellent bikes, great customer service (with the shuttle) and a new central location in the town. Always stop at Altitude on the way back We will certainly use them again in future
