We visited this family owned park at the end of our three week trip to NZ. We had also visited Kiwi experiences in Franz Josef and Rotorua (we like birds). This was our favorite. The conservation show was engaging and fun. The Kiwi House had nice opportunities to view the Kiwi. We also got to get close to several birds that we had spotted in the wild, but then could study them a bit more. The park is beautifully maintained and a nice respite from the business of Queenstown.

If you want to see a kiwi bird, then this is the place to go. Well-maintained park, several programs included in admission and a large night-vision building that beautifully houses four kiwi. We saw them all!

Pleasant, although a bit tired, park with sequoias and various bird enclosures. We went mainly to see kiwis as they are very difficult to see in the wild. Make sure you get there at feeding time. Your eyes have to become accustomed to the darkness before you can see them. But it is a very fleeting sight. Anyhow, we were glad we went, as we came across a young one in a national park a week later at dusk! It looked like a furry Easter egg, with a white beak, on cocaine ;-) There is also a conservation presentation that we found quite poor, with a few birds and...3 rats! The young lady doing the presentation speaks way too fast to be understood. The park in itself is pleasant with many sequoias and beautiful trees, but will be nicer when the noise from the huge construction above it stops.

Not worth the money hardly anything to see. We arrived just before 3 in time for the now exhibition. That was good from there the park has hardly anything else to see. I don’t think the noise from the work happening next door was helpful

Phenomenal experience in the heart of Queenstown! Don’t miss it! We saw active kiwis running around their habitats, a rare Tuatare up close, forest parrots that liked to peck our shoes, a wonderful conservation presentation with many birds, and even a honey bee preservation area and honey tastings. Allow up to 3 hours to take it all in. Kudos to the multi-generational family who has kept this preserve growing and thriving for all of us.
