We missed our shuttle bus from the cruise ship to this terminal. A rainstorm began and traffic from the ship delayed us. When we arrived we weren’t met as expected, but I think it was because of the weather. We discovered that they had called and were waiting for an extra 15 minutes, which saved us! We were so appreciative. A comfortable ride.
Couldn’t find the pickup location. We asked the individuals with a yellow or orange jacket and each one pointed to a different bus and location. Eventually, the La Vacanza Travel rep was able to call the operator and get us on the bus, but we were late.
We arrived at the Civitavecchia port and there was no bus. We waited from about 09h05 to about 09h45 .They did not let us know that the bus was cancelled. Fortunately there was a private taxi that had place for us to take us to the main sites in Rome and back. Apparently this happens often and this is why the owner of the taxi looks out for people who book the bus. If only we had listened to him when we arrived at the port when he told us at the bus will not come, then we would have left the port about 09h15 and not 10h00 which would have given us more time to spend in Rome Just make sure that the bus is not cancelled before you arrive at the port. We requested a refund from S.I.T bus shuttle and had no problems getting the refund
Did not drop us off at train station. Had to walk blocks to get to station with luggage. Booked this because it said drop off at train station.
Got off the ship and took the port's shuttle bus from ship to the place where all buses seem to meet. Found the ticket seller for our tour bus after asking anyone with a clipboard. We were given our return ticket, told where to wait, which wasn't for long at all. Comfortable trip into Rome with hardly any traffic. Stopped at a great location near The Vatican. Again the driver told us where to wait for the return later on in the day. All in all great experience getting into Rome. Come the return journey we waited where we were told, again there was a ticket seller around who showed us to the bus when it arrived. We were the only people going back to the Port that day so had the bus to ourselves. The driver said we had a whole big bus just for us. Again, uneventful journey back and next minute we're near the port and getting off the bus. The shuttle bus was waiting in the same place to take us back to ship. The whole experience was a breeze, the ticket sellers and driver were so friendly and helpful, and all for a very cheap price. The ship itself was doing a return trip which dropped off and picked up but that was four times the price. We would definitely use this service again.
