Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product

Stop At: Colosseum, Rome, Lazio

Begin your tour of Rome’s most iconic monument with Skip-the-Line access directly through the Gladiator’s Gate. Once the main exit for defeated contenders, this special entrance leads you directly to the parts of the Colosseum most tourists don’t get to see.
Your first stop is the Colosseum Underground – the backstage area where gladiators prepared for battle. Here, your expert, English-speaking guide will call on their historical and archaeological expertise to let you imagine the space as it once was. Scenery and caged wild animals stood ready to be hoisted into the arena by ingenious pulleys. You’ll practically feel the gladiators’ tense anticipation and hear the roar of the blood-thirsty crowd.
Then, walk in the gladiators’ footsteps on a partially reconstructed arena stage – a unique and amazing photo opportunity. And unlike the gladiators, you’ll get to ascend from the Arena Floor to the Colosseum’s second tier, where fans cheered the violent spectacles below.

Duration: 2 hours

Stop At: Palatine Hill, Rome, Lazio

The next stop on the tour takes you back to the very beginning. The Palatine Hill is the spot Romulus chose to found the city that would become Rome in 753 BC – a decision that ended in tragedy for his brother Remus. Here, steeped in history, you’ll enjoy a spectacular preview of your next destination: the Roman Forum.

Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Roman Forum, Rome, Lazio

The Forum and the Via Sacra, the Sacred Way, were the heart of Ancient Rome. All of Roman life could be found in this bustling marketplace: commerce and trade, political rallies, military parades, and the sacred ceremonies of the Vestal Virgins.

This tour was on my bucket list so it was so important to pick the right tour! This company( city wonders) was so professional... and we were met by two amazing guides. Nik and Kristina. Both were massively knowledgable and Nik was really funny too! Thank you for making this once in a life time experience so amazing. Lots of walking and steps however both guides were conscious of the elderly and people with reduced mobility.
Thank you for bringing this fascinating history to life with such passion. Your wonderful thank you :-)

Excellent guided trip, Amil Bello the guide was enthusiastic, knowledgable, was very organised and brought a very calm and light atmosphere to a very educational experience . The colosseum provided their own guide too who was a wealth of knowledge and very likeable.
A truly memorable trip I would recommend to anyone visiting Rome

If you have read about visiting the Colosseum or spoken to anyone who has visited recently, no doubt they will mention the crowds and the lines - over two hundred metres long and a wait time of over 90 minutes - granted we did visit in April, approaching the busier time of the year but nevertheless we are informed this is not unusual at other times of the year. This tour provides a skip the line advantage but that is just the start of what this tour provides. Access to areas not available to general admittance or some other tours makes this tour exceptional. The insights and education provided by the tour - our guide was Fabbrizzio who was fantastic - are incredible and provides a better appreciation as to what this structure provided in ancient times. A general admittance would provide the opportunity to see but this tour provides the benefit of understanding. This also extends to the Roman Forum tour, which again enables skip the line and an explanation of the various ruins within the Forum. A lengthy tour but well and truly worth it - and a big shout out to Fabrizzio - incredibly knowledgeable and a great tour guide.

Fairly small group guided through the history of this iconic place. Brought to life the majesty and the cruelty of the Roman regime and could almost visualise “the games” attended by 50,000 spectators baying for blood.

Our tour guide, Laura, was fantastic. Her knowledge of the history of Rome was outstanding. She spoke impeccable English and was able to answer all questions posed by the group. Would highly recommend this tour.
