It’s not escorted entrance, and you have to coordinate with a group of strangers to get in. Basically, there’s one ticket that’s good for however many people are in your group. You all have to stay together to get into the Colosseum, and then you have to pick up a meeting point and a time for you all to get back together so you can get into the Roman Forum together. No one escorts you in. We only bought these tickets because we could no longer buy tickets through the official website. If tickets are still available through the official website, definitely go that route.
We paid them to get us through the line. It was mostly organized and got us through the line. Since they had been sold out for weeks it was the only way to go to the Colosseum
First off it took us 10 minutes to even be able to write this review because they know they screwed up so badly! We were told to meet at our meeting point to enter 15 minutes before our scheduled time. We showed up about 25 minutes before hand just to be sure and were told to wait which was totally fine! We waited and finally it was time to check in. After checking in we were told to follow a young lady that clearly had NO idea what she was doing (maybe her first day in which we will let it slide). She brought us to the front entrance and literally disappeared from planet earth. As a group of what was supposed to be 12 and turned out to be 17 we decided screw it we will figure it out ourselves. As we approached the security area we were told we couldn’t get through and we’re shoved to the side SO rudely by a man working there. We all stood calmly trying to figure it out as we clearly wanted to experience this ordeal. As my fiancé was on the phone for about 30 minutes with the tour guide(s) we noticed a second group of at least 20 be pushed aside and couldn’t get in either. We were then escorted out of the area and told to figure it out ourselves. It had been at least an hour now before ANY answers were given to our large group before we finally decided to exit the area and figure it out in person. Once we arrive we were told there was nothing they can do and to wait for the next available spot which was in three days (we left the next day as did half of the group) therefore ruining all plans to explore. In the end our “ticket” was used hours beforehand and was invalid for our group to use. While there we asked another tour guide to help us and he put our hands in our face and told us to figure it out ourselves because it wasn’t his problem since he had his own tour to guide. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING EXPERIENCE! I HOPE THIS COMPANY GOES OUT OF BUSINESS!
After eventually finding the spot of garden where City Wonders Ltd congregate , I then had to wait ( beyond the allocated time of entry ) in the full glare of the sun. My wife and 2 friends who waited nearer the colosseum as they find stairs a difficulty found their way up to the collection point as they thought something had gone wrong. We as a group of 16 people as we later found out were lead to the entrance. After passing through 2 check points we were informed to keep together as a group. Bemused we found another check point to let us in. We were refused entry at first only to find that another customer had been given the ticket to get all 16 through. Surely the 2 guides that took us to the entrance should make sure that we are ESCORTED THROUGH THE ENTRANCE
What a great tour. Sylvia was brilliant. Her passion for history shone through, she was brilliant, open to any questions and made it so interesting. Loved this tour. Well worth every penny,
