The train covers the route in only 32 minutes, and your ticket is valid all day for one ride. The train shuttle service is guaranteed even in the event of strike, since it may be replaced with bus service. Trains run every 15 minutes. The first train from Fiumicino Airport to Rome Termini is at 5.38 and the last train at 23.53. The first train from Rome Termini to Fiumicino Airport departures at 4.50 and the last train at 23.05. In a rush, I may have been double charged for a one way ticket. The train is convenient. Otherwise it was a good trip to Termini. Watch out for taxi drivers! Make sure they use the meter! If you are two to three, it may be cheaper to take the 50 euro fixed rate to central Rome

We purchased tickets on the trenitailia web site - easy. After purchasing the tickets, however, we could NOT "check in" . We attempted at the electronic devices at stations, but no luck. Our train from Pisa arrived at the Rome termini on time, with just enough time to make the Leonardo Express connection to the airport. We showed our e-tickets to the conductor, and he said we could board. Then once on board and underway, he came to check our tickets. He said we had not "checked in" and thus there would be be a fine of E50.00 per ticket, which he collected on the spot - despite our protests. He then proceeded up the car and fined other passengers! I want others to be aware of this possible scam. It was obvious that we had purched the tickets; there was no attempt by us not to pay the fare. What was UNFAIR was that the conductor would not recognize our tickets, and further felt the need to fine us approximately 4 times the value of each ticket. WHEN USING THE LEONARDO EXPRESS IN ROME BEWARE OF CONDUCTORS SHAKING DOWN PASSENGERS WITH VALID TICKETS!! (Are some of the conductors sharing in the fines, which can be paid in cash??!!)

The experience could have been better. It was not made clear that the Leonardo tickets are timed, and you would have to change the time and check in again before your desired travel time.

I paid and booked in advance the girl at the gate would not except it. I had to pay again on the 4th of April it caused distress as I thought I could just walk through and show ticket on ph. I asked for a refund as I had to pay twice and not a word back from La Vacanza Travel.

Be prepared to pay 50 Euro per person on board even if you have tickets in your hand. Often the ticket validation machines are broken at the station and if your ticket isn’t stamped you will be charged. They even charged our 9 and 11 year old 50 Euro and they are free! We paid 28 Euro online and then 200 Euro on board.
