Meeting with our guide in front of the church of Santa Maria del Popolo, in Piazza del Popolo. Valadier, who added the elegant central fountain incorporating the original Egyptian obelisk, redesigned the Square. Ideally departing from the obelisk are the three major streets leading to downtown.

Stop At: Museo dell'Ara Pacis, Lungotevere in Augusta Corner of Via Tomacelli, 00186 Rome Italy
We will continue walking along one of the three streets (called the Trident), Via di Ripetta, flanking the ancient port. Walking along the river Tiber, we will pass by an amazing work of art of 2.000 years, the Ara Pacis. Despite its name, “altar of peace”, it was built for sacrifices.

Experience the elegance of Piazza Navona, one of the biggest squares in Rome, a great example of Baroque architecture and sculpture. You will admire at its center the famous “Fountain of the Four Rivers”. Built to represent The Nile, The Ganges, The Danube and Rio de la Plata, the structure now sits amidst the artists who arrive to peddle their wares on a daily basis.

Stop At: Pantheon, Piazza della Rotonda, 00186 Rome Italy
Following our knowledgeable guide, you will admire one of the most famous and best-preserved of all Ancient Roman buildings, the Pantheon. It was completed in 128 A.D. by Hadrian and its diameter has never been equalled. The square is a gathering place and is decorated with a lovely 16th-century fountain, surmounted by an Egyptian obelisk.
