This tour is like no other, as we dedicate 2 hours to taking you into areas that are closed to other ticket holders. Your expert local guide will take you to all levels of the Colosseum, from the underground which operated as a backstage area for the games that took place, to the arena floor, where you will stand in the footseps of the gladiators who fought here, to the upper levels, where you can enjoy the view from where the bloodthirsty mob of Rome sat for the spectacles.
This tour touches on all levels, so it has something for everyone! Your guide will explain the political scene that inspired the construction of the building, explaining the signifance of the location and what was there before. You will also learn how it was built in such a quick period, and why it has deteriorated in the middle ages.
You will also hear of the games that took place here, with the different types of gladiators and the animal battles and naval battles that were also hosted in the Colosseum.
