This Rome shore excursion has been designed for those who wish to enjoy a complete overview of Rome. Escape the crowded bus tours on our semi-private (shared) excursion with a maximum of 8 passengers. You will go where large buses are not permitted, allowing you to see more, walk less, and capture the best of Rome.

The Domus Augustana was the royal palace of the Emperor Augustus. Set on the Palatine Hill, the emperor could watch the chariot races in the Circus Maximus from his home.

Pass By: Teatro di Marcello, Via del Teatro de Marcello, 00186 Rome Italy
Teatro Marcello is an unusual architectural site in Rome. It was originally an arena in Ancient Rome, built in the later years of the Roman Republic. Fast forward many centuries and dwellings were built on top of the amphitheatre. Today, these apartments are some Rome's most expensive real estate, home to the well-heeled of The Eternal City.

From the back side of the Capitoline Hill, take a trip back in time as you view the fascinating Roman Forum. This public space was the center of civic life in ancient times and contains the ruins of many important structures, including the Rostrum where Marc Antony gave his impassioned speech over the body of assassinated Julius Caesar.

The monument to Victor Emmanuel, the first king of a unified Italy, is a gigantic monument in white marble, the center-piece of Piazza Venezia. Across the piazza is the balcony from which Mussolini gave his famous speeches during fascist times.

Trevi Fountain is the largest Baroque fountain in the city and one of the most famous fountains in the world. The fountain has appeared in several notable films, most notably Federico Fellini's "La Dolce Vita."

A former Roman temple to all the gods, now a Catholic church, the Pantheon is a marvel of Roman engineering. You are sure to be fascinated by the coffered ceiling with is giant oculus (wide enough to lower a double-decker bus through!)

Built on the site of the Stadium of Domitian in the 1st Century AD, this arena was later transformed into a plaza exemplifying Baroque-Roman architecture. It features important sculptural works in its three fountains. The most impressive stands in the center of the piazza: Bernini's beautiful Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi (Fountain of the Four Rivers)

At St. Peter's Square, you'll enjoy the expansive piazza lined by Bernini's elegant colonnades and Christendom's largest church. Time permitting, you can enter the basilica (in high season, lines to get through security and proper-apparel screening are usually very long).
