Few miles far from Civitavecchia, in Allumiere, a small quaint village located on a green hill, there’s a local family who has been running a Bakery since the early 19 hundreds!
They prepare the famous Pane Giallo di Allumiere (The Yellow Bread of Allumiere) made with the traditional technique, with the flour obtained from the local organic wheat, the durum, with long leavening times, natural yeast, and cooked in a wood oven coming back to the 19th century. It is a typical and high-quality product which won the national competition “Premio Roma” and was awarded the title of the best Italian Bread!
So, don’t miss the opportunity to visit this traditional Bakery and its laboratory, and to take part to a unique bread making class in Allumiere! When your bread will be in the wood burning oven, let’s have a guided stroll in the downtown and the local museum and then back to the backery again to take the fruit of your bread making Class!
