We had a great time! It was so convenient to have skip the line tickets and everything run smoothly without waiting!!
Amazing ! Loved every second. It is self guided tour The museum staff was extremely helpful . Grateful for the opportunity
Easy to locate, right across from the entrance. Answered all of our questions. Friendly staff. Highly recommend
If you have the opportunity, buy a "skip the line" ticket. Otherwise people were waiting in interminably long lines to get in. That in itself might be fine, but you will find yourself drowning in crowds when inside too. The galleries are often corridor dimensions or tight dead-end rooms. The human tide just pushes you through. Fixed signage is really poor and scant in a lot of places. I doubt an audio guide would be much help either therefore. The tour guides seemed to be zooming through the place, but did seem to offer the best coverage and information. There's an Ikea-like tortured route to eventually get to the Sistine Chapel - which is simply awesome - but then you get hassled to keep moving when you are in there so you find it hard to stop and appreciate the incredible space you are in. This place would be so much better if things were better organised. On balance though, get there. But get there early and skip the line if you can.
Our guide was excellent, providing a lot of useful history and context about the Sistine Chapel frescoes and other art we saw along the way.
