We were super lucky to have hit the jackpot with this company. Stephen picked us up from our motel and it was an amazing experience from our first to our last stop. We chose the ‘Explore the Lakes Tour’ and were so impressed with everything we experienced and absolutely wrapt with our choice. If you want a unique, informative, nature-appreciating tour choose this! We feel like we got to see part of the lesser known Rotorua that everyone should know. Take the road less travelled! Great find! Knowledgeable guide! From the start, Stephen showed wonderfully customer friendly service. Then with each stop he provided great insight and history of the area. From the natural spring, redwoods and the trail by the rafters, to the volcanic history and geography of the area, he was able to provide us with answers to all our questions. The hot chocolate and cookie break eas appreciated as was the up close view of glow worm beads.

Just returned from traveling in NZ for almost 3 weeks and had booked all three tours with Stephen for the day. if you are interested in learning about the broad diversity of ecosystems in NZ, the evolution of the diverse environments as well as the animal life - do this! Visiting the forest at night to see the glowworms was unforgettable. Stephen able to inform on local indigenous history and lore related to natural sites, knows his way around, packs in alot of info & is just a great guy. An absolute trip highlight!

Our excursion with Stephen from Real Rotorua was great. His love for, and knowledge of, the countryside made for an enjoyable morning exploring the area around Rotorua. The circuit around the Hamurana springs was inspiring, and the giant redwoods are just awesome. Then the walk to see the Okere falls was a guide to the region's botanical wonders. It was a pleasant, easy-paced tour of some of the Rotorua's less publicised attractions.
