Overview

Perfect for lovers of architecture and discover Singapore through the lens of art and architecture.

Starting at Blair Plain conservation area, we explore a compact area of historical shophouses and terrace houses of vastly different architectural styles and reflect on the eclectic mix of Chinese, Malay and European design elements.

Next we’ll explore a local residential neighbourhood where brutalist public housing overflows with laundry and potted plants from the windows. Along the way, you will spot a Art Deco former train station on the way and we’ll discuss the style and impact it has for the city.

We will end our architecture walking tour at the glass and concrete towers of the Central Business District. You will learn about Oasia Hotel, a tropical "living tower" which is a prototype of sustainable design in the tropics, reflecting the modern architecture of the city.

We had an excellent tour today with Kelvin. He took our group of 6 on an amazing tour showcasing food and street art in Singapore. He was extremely knowledgeable and personable. His organization was exemplary and the food stalls he chose for us were excellent. A wide range of foods at many different stalls throughout the city. His historical and current knowledge of Singapore was also excellent. Thank you so much Kelvin. An excellent tour was enjoyed by our group of six. John

We had a fantastic tour with Kelvin, who showcased the street art and murals of Little India and Chinatown. Beautiful art and wonderful food and history. Couldn’t recommend Kelvin more highly.

This was a fantastic tour around Chinatown that provided an opportunity to understand the architecture and social history of Singapore. The tour looked at the development of buildings in the city from traditional shopfront houses to public housing and new hotels and apartments. Kelvin was a highly enthusiastic and knowledgeable tour guide - a great 2 hours and highly recommended especially for people who want to go beyond the usual tourist attractions.

P.S. from Everyday Tour Company guided us through a Singapore Architecture Tour on a typical boat and not only could show us the magnificent architectural jewels of Singapore but also has bound these to the topics we have approached during our Executive Education program. She handled the whole logistical organization rapidly and her communication was always supportive. P.S. has a good sense of what people needed, making sure they get time for their pictures and networking after giving them enough info on what surrounds them. We have already booked twice and will probably book her again for your next program in Singapore.

We went on a lovely tour of Orchard Road with PS on the 28th of Oct. Not only did we get to see some beautiful buildings of the past, we also learned some fascinating facts about the hidden side of Orchard Road. PS kept the tour fun with random pop quizzes, and she also pointed out some foodie places when she knew my wife was a foodie. Even though both my wife and I are born and raised here, we both learned so much about Orchard Road, which lead us to appreciate it as more than just a stretch of fancy shopping malls. Highly recommend it if you wish to learn more about the hidden side of places, or just to have a fun tour around Orchard!
