I’ve given this a one star review (should really be zero) purely due to the beauty of the Amalfi coast. I booked onto this last minute and read the latest reviews about this tour and Luca and convinced myself it wasn’t true - however it was! Luca /Lucas (whatever his name is) is one of the rudest captains, let alone people I’ve ever met. He had negative/bad energy from the start of the day. Grumpy, loud and irritable. He barely introduced himself and didn’t have a single care for his passengers (a few being older citizens too). Absolutely awful communication and FORCES you to eat at this restaurant he is of course getting commission from. Luckily we caught onto this and took our one sandwich he provides and explored Capri rather then wasting a lot of time and money at his lunch recommendation. He also claims you can just get a bus to the other harbour when you do arrive in Capri - this is a lie as there’s no direct bus. You can go to Anacapri (which is stunning) or to the middle part of the island. You also only get to swim once off the boat and the caves you see are pretty much a traffic of boats driving into them. As with all tours we didn’t do the blue grotto (would take hours). I also asked for still water and he only gave sparking - and then said I can make it still be shaking the bottle. You can’t even make this up. Anyway in summary, La Vacanza Travel need to seriously remove this tour as an option or send Lucas on a people management course as it’s unfair to make people pay so much and instead of feeling refreshed, having their energy drained. It’s a shame as the actual tour (minus Luca) is beautiful..so book it with another provider and save your stress.

Luca and his crew were welcoming. We toured around Capri and saw some lovely sights. No friction onboard. The captain and deck hand were very competent. I recommend the experience. However a little more guidance once we reached marina Piccola would have been nice. We needed to catch the bus up to Capri etc and were left to figure some of it out for ourselves.

While Luca was very charismatic, the tour was poorly organized. Starting with an unorganized meeting at the Sorrento pier, Luca and his staff took almost 30 minutes to figure out who was going on which boat and on which tour. Once the tour began, we made very brief stops at each sight. Despite being advertised, the tour did not include a stop at the Blue Grotto. He drove past and claimed the line was too long today – he did not consult the group if we would like to wait. He instead took us to another 'grotto' on the other side of Capri and claimed the water was just as blue. Upon disembarking at Capri, Luca took us to a restaurant for the sandwich. As it turns out, he is affiliated with the restaurant and proceeded to work a 3-hour shift while we were free to roam the island. On the way back to Sorrento, Luca drove recklessly when we encountered another boat that cut him off. He proceeded to tailgate the other boat and shout at the captain in Italian, all this while there were a full 12 passengers on board, and some sitting on the front deck. While it was a beautiful day in the sun onboard and the boat was well-kept, we were left a bit disappointed by the tour.

Nice boat and enjoyed the Island of Capri. Should have booked a private tour. We shared the boat with some young women that just wanted to hang out with the boat crew while we toured Capri in scorching weather. We found our way back to the boat by water taxi because no one was on shore at the pick up time. All the water had been consumed by the others so they had none for my family on our way back. Crew was friendly and showed us some cool things but I was annoyed by the other guests. Lesson learned. Pay a bit more for a private tour if you can afford it. Only other complaint was the captain’s assistant smoked almost the whole trip.

Luca and Pipo (his father) were fantastic! They met us at the meeting point on time and walked us to their boat. This family operation felt intimate and special. Luca can drive the boat through anything and stopped in every site. We had ample time to swim and visit Capri. Pipo prepared delicious sandwiches to eat while visiting Capri and soft drinks and beer are provided. I highly recommend this tour!
