Visit the world-famous Hermitage Museum, explore Russian Imperial palaces, venture to the Versailles-rivaling Peterhof Fountain Park, and go for a canal cruise – it’s no accident that St. Petersburg is also known as the “Venice of the North.” Guides will ensure your tour of the city goes smoothly during this 17-hour excursion. You can also sign on for an additional, 3-hour extension, during which you can experience St. Petersburg's various nighttime attractions, from the theatre to folklore performances.

Founded by Peter the Great in 1703, St. Petersburg remains one of the world’s most beautiful cities. This comprehensive, 2-day shore tour makes it easy to discover its many charms, from palaces and parks to canal trips and cultural evenings out. Lasting for roughly 17 hours across two days (or 20 hours, should you sign on for an optional, 3-hour evening extension), this tour is the perfect introduction to the city.
On the first day, disembark from your ship after arriving in the city, and head straight out on a city orientation tour of the city center. You’ll have interior visits to landmarks like the Hermitage Museum, Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood, St. Isaac’s Cathedral and the Winter Palace, punctuated with a stop for lunch. You'll also take an hour-long cruise on the River Neva. At 5:30pm, choose to return to your ship or use your 3-hour extension to see the city after dark. Explore or dine out independently, or sign on for optional evening activities (available for an extra fee), including a visit to the Faberge Museum, a pub crawl, a visit to the ballet, or a guided walking tour.
On the second day, meet your guide at 8am at your port and venture just beyond the city limits to Pushkin, where the Catherine Palace — one of the world’s great palaces — is located. Spend the morning exploring the palace and its grounds before breaking for lunch, after which you’ll visit Peterhof, a seafront palace complex that’s famous for its sprawling gardens and many fountains. Wind down the tour and return to St. Petersburg, where you’ll go for a ride on the metro, famous for its baroque decoration. The tour concludes when you’re returned to your ship one hour before departure.

This was a perfect 2-day visit to St. Petersburg! We were a single large family group 33 people 4 generations, and the tour operator was able to accommodate us in a full size tour bus.
Anna, our guide, was great! Very knowledgeable and she kept the tour interesting for all. Lots to see and do over two days and we got a good appreciation of the city and the culture. Hats off as well to Anna for keeping track of everyone in our group, including the little ones, and for keeping everything so well organised!
The visa-free shore excursion was one less thing to worry about for a large group, and the cost of the excursion was considerably cheaper than arranging something thru the cruise line. Very pleased that we booked thru La Vacanza Travel and glad that we picked this excursion.

Great tour hitting all of the highlights of St. Petersburg. Kate, our guide, was firm but gentle in keeping our group at a good pace through all of the sites we visited and counted our group at various times to make sure everyone was present. Our two lunch stops gave us a taste of Russian cuisine and as well some of their culture. You could see her pride in showing us her St. Petersburg and gave us some insight into the effects of history on the culture and thoughts of natives of St. Petersburg.

Had a lovely experience of our tour of St Petersburg with tour guide Elena and driver Dmitri. Elena was efficient, cheerful and very knowledgable. We were a small group of 14 on this tour and was given an excellent itinerary. St Petersburg was the highlight of our cruise thanks to Elenas expertise. She had everything planned to perfection. We didnt have to wait in any queues. We were provided with water. Entry to the museums, gardens, palaces were all included, and we also were given a boat ride as well as a metro trip. Glad to have booked with La Vacanza Travels. Thank you Elena

St. Petersburg is a city rich in culture and nothing better than a professional tour guide to make the most out of it.
This is a truly professional company and they care they followed up on our visa, promptly answered our telephone and addressed our concerns. We did not have a hitch passing trough customs.
Our guide was well informed answering all our questions about anything Russian history, art and a lot more, especially the best part of the tour, the Hermitage.
Our guide was very tolerant and we really appreciate her cool attitude and patience.
The bus dropped us at the right place and we did not have to walk much and picked us right on time.
Thank you Tickets and Tours

This was an exceptional tour with Anna. She is very knowledgable and keep us all on task with kindness and courtesy. Be sure to be timely on the first day as this really makes a difference in what you get to see and the time allotted. Comfortable shoes and the ability to walk easily are a must for your enjoyment. Also note that the company has to reserve group times in advance to secure these special tour activities. I saw all the highlights on my list and really enjoyed the local lunch that was included the first day. Anna and our driver Anatoli certainly made this a top notch excursion.
