This was the highlight of our Baltic cruise -- our 2 days in St. Petersburg was totally awesome. We were so glad that we booked a small-group tour -- our guide Kseniia, and driver, Maxim, were amazing. She gave us a lot of information on the history and culture of her country, and he navigated us around the city expertly -- dropping us off and picking us up at each site we visited. We were totally amazed at the beauty of this city, and could hardly take it all in. The cathedrals, churches and palaces were stunning. We enjoyed the traditional lunches that we shared with Kseniia. At the end of our second day, we even got to meet Anna, the owner of the I Love Travel tour company. We loved our St. Petersburg experience and hope to go back there again. We were a bit worried about how the immigration/ visa for Russia would work, but we just showed our tour tickets and there was absolutely no problem.

We have had a lot of good experiences booking through La Vacanza Travel, but this had to be the best. Our guide was knowledgeable, interesting and personable. Our driver navigated the heavy traffic and narrow streets of St Petersburg with ease. Our only disappointment was that two days was not long enough to soak up all the city and environs have to offer. The tour company even arranged for a bottle of sparkling wine - Russian, of course - at one of our lunches so my wife and I could celebrate our anniversary. This tour beats those arranged by the cruise ship, because it included a subway ride and canal tour. Peterhoff and the Church of the Spilled Blood
