Overview

Due to the coronavirus, the rules for visiting the Museum have been changed. Visiting by sessions, along routes developed by the Museum, the time of visit and the number of visitors is limited.

Access to the exhibition of the Main Museum complex and separate objects-the Main headquarters and the Restoration and storage center "Old village" must be made within 45 minutes from the start of the session indicated on the ticket, at the exhibition of other separate objects – within 30 minutes from the start of the session indicated on the ticket.

The visitor is recommended to arrive at the Museum entrance no later than 15 minutes before the start of the session indicated on the ticket.

It is possible to visit: The main Museum complex, the General Staff building and the Imperial porcelain factory.

Due to the coronavirus, the rules for visiting the Museum have been changed. You can visit separately the Main Museum complex (entrance from the Church stairs or Jordan stairs) (45 min), the Main headquarters (45 min) and the Museum of the Imperial porcelain factory (30 min).
The route of the visit was developed by the Museum staff. The visit time is limited and is only possible during the time specified in the ticket. The visitor is recommended to arrive at the Museum entrance no later than 15 minutes before the start of the session indicated on the ticket.

Children under 18 can visit the Museum for free every third Thursday of the month. On other days, children will get a regular ticket.

We had very good experience with the purchase. We had a very late booking and worried the 48-hour confirmation as mentioned would be too long. And to ournice surprise our booking was confirmed in less than 12 hours with a very smooth entry. Just print out the tickets with Bar code and enter at the designated entrance for internet booking. That is it. Very easy!

we found the correct entrance to the site, back of a long queue others with the same ticket. it might be better to take a guide there is no direction inside you stagger from room to room and must be easy to miss rooms. you also have to contend with the asians and their elbows. it was busy.

I bought two tickets a week before our trip and got several emails asking me to print but also stating that it wasn't the ticket. I concluded that I had to collect the tickets from the museum with a printout of the email but this wasn't the case. We went to the museum who told us (after a lengthy queue) that they weren't tickets that we were in effect "conned" and that we should buy tickets from them. Needless to say we didn't do this but instead spoke to the local contact who then sent me the correct tickets to my mobile. I am not sure why this wasn't done in the first place and it would have avoided a lot of wasted precious holiday time. Day 2 we went back and were able to scan the tickets but also noted had we bought tickets at the booth it would have been just as quick and also half the price. My advice is to go to the museum early before they open and buy tickets on the day from the machine.
