Overview

Thanks to expert guides, this experience offers the opportunity to really improve your technical skills in mountain biking whilst discovering the essence of the Ticino region, its striking beauty and fascinating history. Each experience is tailor-made: for riders approaching the paths for the first time the guide will suggest an itinerary made up of forest trails and simpler paths, while more experienced riders can tackle the more technical and demanding trails.

Itinerary

Along this 3-hour trail you will discover the enchanting beauty of Capriasca woods, just north of Lugano. Passing among the majestic chestnut trees and the quiet of the hills, your guide will recount tales of ancient local legends and fascinating folklore. The stories begin at the Devil's Stone in Tesserete, the guardian of a hidden treasure, and then pass by the Moncrini fountain in Sala Capriasca, sculpted in 1770. Continuing through the woods and vineyards on the hills, you will arrive at the Church of San Zeno in Lamone. Here you will be able to contemplate Lake Origlio, a splendid body of water whose mirror-like surface reflects the surrounding mountains. The tour continues onward to Comano through a quiet wood and a climb up to the church of San Bernardo. To finish the itinerary, you will pass by Redde, a medieval village abandoned during the plague, around which the legend of the basilisk rooster revolves. In all, the route covers about 20 km and a total altitude difference of 600 meters.

Grazie ancora!
