Today we had this cookingclass and it was a great expirience! The host are very kind and patient(especially without 4 year old granddaughter) , told us a lot of their culture and the food we cooked was amazing. We had a great day and i can reccommend this trip!
Had a fantastic time and learnt so much about Balinese cooking and culture. The market tour to start was perfect and gave us an understanding of how the locals go about their fresh food buying. Once we started cooking it was a laugh a minute with the interaction between and us Rajesh and Putu so much fun. The food we cooked was fantastic and so satisfying knowing we were part of the process. Will definitely be back.
Today we went to the cooking class. By suprise they brought us to a coffee and tea plantation which was very nice and after that we went to their family home were we did the cooking class with most friendly people. They teached us so much about the local food and for everyone who wants to do a cooking class in bali we really reccomend this place. Thankyou very much for your kindness and hospitality!! What a wonderful cooking experience! As I didn't book the morning cooking class (where you go to the market), we went to the rice fields instead and I learned a lot about the rice harvesting. Back at the warung, we prepared the paste and all the ingredients for a soup, the main dishes (e.g. for satay, curry, tempeh, Gado Gado) and a desert and started cooking by the stove and over the fire. The cooking was a lot of fun because the whole family is just so sweet, kind and welcoming that it felt like being home. Really enjoyed my time here with "my little Indonesian family". And the food tasted insanely good. Not joking if I say it's one of the best dinners I had during my time in Bali. I also got all the recipes afterwards so I can cook the dishes back home. Highly recommend to book a class or come here for lunch or dinner if you're in Ubud. Terima kasih!
We had such an amazing day at the cooking school. They catered beautifully for our 2 daughters aged 11 and 14 who enjoyed it and had lots of fun. They also adapted dishes for my vegan diet. We all learnt so much, not just about Balinese cooking but so much cultural knowledge too. This has been our favourite experience in Bali for our whole trip. Such great value for money..We would highly recommend!
