Overview

Avanos is approximately 8 kilometers from the city center of Cappadocia. Pottery in this region dates back to 2000 BC during the Hittites period. Throughout history, human beings have been creative by using the resources provided by the soil for their own benefit in daily life. For centuries, local people have been taking this clay and using traditional old pottery wheels to make various items such as wine jugs, cooking utensils and souvenirs ever since Turkey embraced tourism.

What Can You Expect?

Itinerary

First I will pick you up from your hotel or your location, then we go to the pottery workshop. You will then watch a pottery show (we always have fresh Turkish Tea)
After the show you will try to make your own pottery.
They will also give you all the details about this art and information about the artworks, special designs and local culture.

The experience was absolutely wonderful. The pottery lesson was Informative and immersive. The driver Bekir Kaynak was absolutely wonderful and caring in accommodating the needs of me and my wife. As tourists he made us feel welcome and at home.. he took care of us and even let us stop to try a yummy doner kabob.. May Allah bless the team of emoji tourism

Bekir was an amazing tour guide. We went to pottery place to watch how its made and we get the chance to make it ourselves.

It was a very nice private tour. Our guide Bekir Kaynak picked us up at our hotel in a nice car and took us to the ceramic shop. We got a pottery workshop there and afterwards we got to shop. Bekir was patience enough to wait on us while we were shopping. Afterwarfs he showed us around, gave us information about Cappadocia and let us try the wine/pumpkin seeds/raisins. Bekir took a lot of beautiful picture of us. Thank you so much Bekir, we definitely enjoyed the tour!

The driver was very efficient and informative about the culture of the city. The pottery making was not long enough and the owner kept pushing products to sell and following us around the showroom. Was very uncomfortable.
