Overview

What makes my tours different from others is that first Our availability is our introduction. And our service and our Hinduism philosophy and local Activists is our brand! i offer an authentic experience of Varanasi with an extremely knowledgeable guide to lead the way. Each tour is individually tailored to your interests so you get to see what is important to you. You can try traveler friendly street food, take a prive sunrise tour of the Ghats and ceremonies, wander through the winding back alleys and old city, see the Aghori Babas and temples, and experience how spirituality is so deeply woven into the lives of the people here.

Having lived here my whole life and being a guide for the last 8 years has given me a deep knowledge of the city and the traditions, rituals and religions that it surrounds. During the tour I will pass on much of this to you so you can have a more meaningful experience of the city.

Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product

Stop At: Ganges River, Varanasi India

From the boat you can watch the daily lives of the locals as they practice yoga, pray, worship the river, bathe, drink chai, get a haircut, or do their laundry.

Duration: 2 hours

Stop At: Varanasi, Varanasi, Varanasi District, Uttar Pradesh

From there, we will go on a walking tour through the labyrinth of alleys in the old town where we have to dodge people, cows, dogs and goats. If you are hungry we can always stop for a breakfast break (at your own expense) and of course, we will drink some chai along the way.

Wandering around in the old town we will see how the local people live. After this, I will bring you back to your hotel so you can take some rest. I know that Varanasi is overwhelming with its colours, fragrances and noise so you might need some time off to contemplate the day so far.

Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes

Stop At: Dasaswamedh Ghat Road Bangali Tola, Varanasi 221001 India

Late afternoon, I will pick you up again to bring you to the Dasaswamedh Ghat. Every evening, when dusk descends, the Ganga Aarti will be performed by pandits (priest). An Aarti is a devotional ritual that uses fire as an offering. The offering is made to the Goddess Ghanga. This whole mind-blowing, spiritual ceremony will last for less than 1 hour. We will participate from the shore, but if you prefer to watch it from the water in a boat I can work it out for you, for an additional fee.

Duration: 2 hours

Stop At: Manikarnika Ghat, Ghasi Tola Road, Varanasi 221001 India

We will finish this beautiful day with a stroll along the Riverside and the ghats. If you are interested, we also have the option to visit Manikarnika Ghat where the open air crematorium is running 24/7.

It is strictly forbidden to take any pictures there, out of respect for the dead., but, it's a very interesting place to see how the Hindus cope with the cycle of life and death which is so different compared to Western world ideas.

The guided tour was great. Packed with information about the local history, religion, Tempels and ceremonies, with a tour to visit some of the major local Tempels ( Tickets bought separately). We started with a boat tour to see everything from afar with a larger perspective, we visited Tempels, the burning ceremony and the evening fire ceremony. Vinay was very nice, friendly and open to dialogue, he speaks good English and he knows a lot. Our tour was devided into 2 parts, about 3 hours in the morning and 1and a half hours in the evening. Very good guided tour!

By the name itself, Banaras walla tours is a great tour organizer. The main man behind the tour is a hero without a cape yk, very professional when it comes to guiding tourists from all over the world. This man has the best ideas on how to manage a solo tour or a group tour in budget. These guys won't take a penny extra from you because they feel they are doing it for the creator but they have to have their bread and butter so the pricing orelse they could do it for free even. Such nice hosts. They can host a luxury tour as well. The special part is they will always make you feel special be it taking you for Kashi Vishwanath Temple Darshan or walking you safely to the gallis of banaras. I can go on writing good things about this tour, because my experience with them was just out of the world. More like brothers now. I hope you find your peace with Banaras Wala Tours. Cheers.

The tour was brilliant. Varanasi can be a very overwhelming place, i felt very anxious at the start but Vinay and Ravi made the tour stress free. It was an excellent way to see the ghats and main temples of Varanasi. Ravi is an absolute gentleman, and he is very knowledgeable of Varanasi and explained a lot about Indian culture

Both our guide Mr Ravi and the operator Mr Vinay were highly accommodating. Be it the pace of the trip we set or our wants and needs during the trip, the duo was kind enough to arrange it all for us. The routes we took and the insight we gained into the history of the ghats and the temples would not have been possible without our guide. Moreover, we appreciated the food and shopping detours we took every now and then.

Vishal Pandey was our guide for the day and he really took good care of us in taking us to the landmark spots around the city. He is very knowledgeable and well aware about the history of the city. However, there were couple of things which could have been better - 1) Boat trip was very short and expensive(had to pay separately for the boat ride) - since the Ganga water levels were higher during our stay so we could only take motorized boats. But the boats only took us for a 30 mins ride(it was mentioned that the trip would be an hour long) to a handful of ghats around Dashaswamedh ghat. It was a bit disappointing. 2) Shri Kashi Viswanath mandir darshan - our guide took us to the Shiv Shakti Rudraksh shop opposite to the Manikarnika dwar where a Shashtri'ji accompanied us to the temple for a darshan. They charged us an exorbitant amount for our darshan(which was separate from this tour). Later I found out that the same darshan could have been done through the Shri Kashi Viswanath official helpdesk at a quarter of a price. Considering these services were provided through vendors outside of Banaras Wala Tours, I am sure Mr Vinay can find better alternatives. Overall, the itinerary set by Banaras wala tours is good and lets you see quite a bit of the city.
