Early morning boat ride & ghat visit along the Ganges and catch the scene of devotees bathing and praying in the sacred water. Ghats in Varanasi are riverfront steps leading to the banks of the River Ganges. The city has 88 ghats, most of the ghats are bathing and puja ceremony ghats, while two ghats are used exclusively as cremation sites. The ghats are frequented by the people which include early morning bathers, priests, people practicing meditation and yoga, students and tourists as well.

Dashashwamedh Ghat is the main ghat in Varanasi on the Ganga River. It is located close to Vishwanath Temple and is probably the most spectacular ghat. Close to the ghat, overlooking the Ganga lies the Jantar Mantar, an observatory built by Maharaja Jai Singh of Jaipur in the year 1737. There are more than 100 ghats along side Ganga, some of the prominent and popular Ghats are the Dasaswamedh Ghat, Manikarnika Ghat, Harischandra Ghat, Kabir Ghat and Assi Ghat.

Kashi Vishwanath Temple, situated on the western bank of the holy river Ganga, is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple has 800 kg of gold plating on its tower. Other than Hindus cannot enter the temple complex, they can only see the temple tower from Mankarnika ghat corridor. There is also a well present within the temple complex called Jnana Vapi where too only Hindus are allowed to enter.
