Overview

The Museum is dedicated to the thought and the works of Leonardo da Vinci and it is situated in the old town centre of Venice, Sestriere San Polo, at the Scoletta di San Rocco, in front of the Scuola Grande di San Rocco, 100 meters away from the Basilica dei Frari. Inside they are exposed working and testable reproductions of “Leonardo’s Machines” drawn from the famous “Da Vinci Codes”. You can consult some of his main Anatomical Studies and there is also an art gallery in which his main paintings are shown and described, faithfully reproduced through the use of an exclusive ultra high-resolution backlight technology. The exhibition is completed by many educational projections depicting Leonardo’s life and works and an original and well-stocked bookshop.

The interactive section of the museum was very engaging for the whole family. Ideally the first room could be more child friendly with interesting facts and hidden meanings.

Really informative museum that gives a good insight into Leonardo da vinci’s work. I really enjoyed browsing through his “notebook”. The models of his drawings were really interesting as well. If you are into science and engineering, it is a must visit place as you get to realise how much ahead of his time Da Vinci was.

We could not find the museum by google map. So we had to go to another Leonardo da Vinci Museum. (Because it was the only museum in google map) So we paid again for this different one.
