Gerhardt mill (another name - Mill №4 named after K. Grudinina) located in Volgograd. It is destroyed during the Battle of Stalingrad, a five-story red brick building, which is a historical monument as part of the museum-panorama "The Battle of Stalingrad".

The mill was built in 1903 by Alexander Gerhardt, who, along with their relatives in the city founded the company «AD Gerhardt und Neffen». During the construction and equipment of the mill have been used the most advanced technology of the time: Carrier constructions were made of reinforced concrete, had its own generator and boiler house. The mill operated until September 1942, when the building got explosive bombs.

During the Battle of Stalingrad Mill Gerhardt was an important hub of Defense. During this time, the building was the destruction that is not recoverable: the roof was destroyed by a direct hit bombs, each square meter of the exterior walls of who chops shells, bullets and shrapnel. Until the 1980s it was possible to visit the mill inside, nowadays can only external examination.

Around the mill was installed military equipment of Soviet and German armies, the remains of shells and a replica of the famous fountain of the "Children's dance."

"Pavlov's House" was a four-story building, which was scene of brutal fighting from 23 September to 25 November 1942, during the battle of Stalingrad. It was held and defended by a 25-man understrenght platoon and Soviet citizens under direct command of Junior Sergeant Yakov Pavlov. To prevent being isolated, a communication trench was dug to Soviet positions outside.

It was rebuild after the battle and a memorial, made from bricks from the original building, was attached to the eastern outer wall of the complex. The text on this memorial reads: "In this house, military and workers heroic deeds were united."
