This is an independent three day tour departing Wellington daily with two nights in a 4 - 4.5 star accommodation in Rotorua prior to your tour concluding in Auckland on day 3. The tour includes a full day in Rotorua with a guided tour at Te Puia. On day three the tour travels to Auckland via Waitomo where you will experience a guided tour of the glowworm caves. Hotel pick-ups and drop-offs are included for all transfers and activities listed.

Day 1: Wellington to Rotorua

Stop At: Millennium Hotel Rotorua, 1270 Hinemaru Street, Ohinemutu, Rotorua 3010, New Zealand
Travelling by road from Wellington to Rotorua via the Kapiti Coast, Palmerston North, the central plateau (home to several active volcanoes), Lake Taupo arriving in Rotorua late afternoon.

Day 2: Rotorua: Te Puia + afternoon at leisure

Stop At: Te Puia, Hemo Road, Rotorua New Zealand
This morning Visit Te Puia and experience Rotorua's famous Maori culture and geothermal activity with a tour of the neighbouring Whakarewarewa Thermal Valley - a place where mud pools bubble and boil and geysers shoot steam high into the air.

Day 3: Day Three: Rotorua – Waitomo Caves – Auckland

Stop At: Waitomo Glowworm Caves, 39 Waitomo Village Road, Waitomo Caves 3943 New Zealand
Travel from Rotorua to Auckland by road via the Waitomo Glowworm caves with a guided tour of the caves including a boat through the glowworm grotto. Arrive in Auckland mid-afternoon where you will be transferred to your central city accommodation, at which time your tour will conclude.

A great way to see the topography of North Island NZ the first day. The 2nd and 3rd day had very cool events we thoroughly enjoyed. We highly recommend. Steve and Sandra (from Canada)

The bus ride from Wellington to Auckland was chaotic. A train from Wellington to Rotorua would have been much better. The hotel in Rotorua was not a very good experience. The tour bus drivers were very good

I never left any negative feedback, but this one review, anyone who wants to join this tour should reconsider. DO NOT JOIN THIS Horrible Tour Company (Canterbury Leisure Tours, Christchurch). They let a taxi driver dropped us off at a intercity coach bus terminal instead of hotel pick up as promised in tour detail, No tour guide or instruction of which coach bus to get on, so we got on the wrong bus all the way to Auckland, they were slow to react to your help request during the bus journey. The tour office closed at 5pm, We ended up in Auckland 2 days earlier than the tour even started, no assistance whatsoever from the office except telling me that I could have gotten off at the next station and get uber back to Rotorua myself. So Irresponsible and disturbing. The tour company had been ignoring all my emails asking for help or refund since 5 pm, the day I missed the correct bus stop.

Visits on days 2 and 3 were great with excellent tour guides. Accommodation at Park Gate hotel in Rotorua was brilliant. The only downside of the tour was that the first day’s transport was on an intercity bus with no commentary which was not as advertised.
