Recommend this! Was relaxing and a nice way to spend a couple of hours seeing the lake from a different view from the yacht. Ian was welcoming and we could sit back and relax with opportunity to take the helm and steer a little. No problems with timings or meeting point - Storrs Hall. Plenty of parking (free) and we could use the toilet in Storrs Hall before walking to its jetty to meet Ian at the boat. The only thing I’d change is that I received the experience as a gift from my partner and when I redeemed the voucher I was sent a pdf of the ticket confirming the sailing date (great), however the pdf was an invoice which showed the price of how much my gift voucher had cost. The experience has already been paid for when my partner bought the voucher. At this point if the customer journey, I feel, as the gift recipient, the price should be hidden from view/omitted in correspondence with gift recipients. Thank you!
We had a lovely time sailing with Ian. He was a very pleasant host who knew what he was doing. Shame there wasn’t much wind but overall a nice experience
We had a great time on the boat. The day was quite calm but I was able to get a real feel for sailing. Ian was friendly and gave just the right amount of guidance as he shared his evident enthusiasm for sailing and The Lakes. Recommended!
Parking for our car was at the hotel, it was free and easy to find. Once there, we walked over to the jetty - and we were on the water in no time. We have 2 teenagers and they both had a good time and spoke about for the rest of the day. We all found it a very relaxing and pleasant experience with a wonderful host/skipper. Thank you very much!
I was so excited to be going on this experience as the reviews were so positive therefore I booked it for myself and partner as a special treat. I expected a 2 hour sailing experience that involved us moving around lake Windermere in the small yacht. Ian, was very polite, he safely used the engine to move us from the jetty approximately 200 metres away. He set up the sails in wait for the forecast breeze to arrive .We did not move any further than 400metres the whole 2 hours. I did mention that we were not going anywhere a few times but unfortunately Ian was very patient waiting on the breeze. He did turn on the motor a couple of times when he saw a ripple in the lake to try and catch the breeze. I would like to highlight that there was no obvious plan B in these circumstances. I definitely would not recommend if the weather is not forecast as sailing weather- wind!
