I used our 2 day York Pass which had to be booked in advance We arrived a little early and time for a hot chocolate Excellent talk about where the chocolate beans come from and the process used to make their bespoke chocolate . Great visual aids The tasting session was informative and of course very tasty Time to browse and buy our chocolate for later Who can resist the taste of bespoke chocolate Well worth the time to pay them a visit
The young lady that gave us the tour and tasting was lovely. She was very informative and we loved the tasting! We were a group of seven and we all enjoyed it and bought chocolate and bags of hot chocolate too after our tour.
Truthfully, it was just okay. They took us outside where we learnt about the machinery, then we went inside and did some tasting. The chocolate pieces were tiny, and that was all we really did. It was nice, however a bit boring. I noticed off to the side there was a big kitchen like room, it would be a better experience if you could maybe do something more hands on with the chocolate
Visited with a friend. When the tour started, we were taken outside & shown the machinery through the window, This should've been a red flag. We were taken inside & seated at a table. More machines were pointed out to us through a window. We then tasted 4 miniscule pieces of chocolate, none of which was appetising & we "learned" percentage of cocoa & origin of the chocolate. That was it. £9.50 for 25 minutes of not a lot. The only thing we learned was how to save money & 25 minutes of your time - by giving this activity a miss.
Really fun and informative tour! Got to learn a lot about the chocolate making process and did some taste testing. Great quality chocolate and we got 10% off the gift shop for attending the tour. Our guide was lovely, he definitely knew his stuff. You go in a quite small group, we had 6 but there was space for 8, so there's a lot of opportunities to ask questions. Would recommend!!
