Guided bike tour of York, inside and outside the city walls.  Starting at a central location in the city.  A 2 to 2.5 hour tour with multiple stops to hear the stories of the saints and sinners, the good and the evil, from Romans and Vikings to the sweetness of chocolate makers.  Although factual, your guide will tell the grisly tales in a lighthearted way.  The route is planned for safety and the best stopping view points and is mainly on quiet roads or designated cycle paths.

We had a lovely couple of hours riding up and down the streets of York! Cecil was a great tour guide and was able to offer insights into the history of the city from ghost sightings to chocolate makers, highway men to millionaire business men, the makings of the minster and so much more! We will 100% be recommending the tour to others!

We enjoyed a great few hours discovering parts of York that we never would have on foot. Cecil was a friendly, fun and highly knowledgeable guide with a real passion for the city. As a result of the tour we were able to plan which parts of the city we wanted to explore in more detail. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone.

Great bike tour of York city centre with brilliant and very knowledgeable guide, Cecil. We learned about York’s history including the importance and influence of the Vikings and Romans - it was really interesting to be shown significant locations. We were also shown parts of the city we had never been to before including Rowntree Park and learned about the York’s chocolate industry past and how it helped to shape the city. The tour gave us a different take on a city we have visited many times. We would highly recommend this tour for both newcomers to the city and frequent visitors who would like to know more.

What a great way to start our visit to York. Cecil is an excellent guide -knowledgeable, funny and charming. Being on bikes allowed us to explore far more of the city than we would have ever seen otherwise. We gained a solid understanding of York's history, key sights as well as general layout. We loved that the tour met at York Brew, which I had thought was a coffee shop, to our delight it is a craft brewery featuring dozens of excellent beers. What a great way to wrap up our tour and a chance buy Cecil a cold one.
