Chiang Mai Night Safari
Anyone who loves animals would have a grand time at the Chiang Mai Night Safari. Inspired by the Singapore Night Safari, the safari was opened in mid-2005 to give guests the thrill of being out in the wild at night.
Covering 320 acres of land, the Chiang Mai Night Safari is divided into three main areas—Jaguar Trail, Savanna Safari and Predator Prowl—all of which can be enjoyed by foot or on a tram.
The safari offers a unique experience because it is an African savannah-cross-zoo where more than 200 species of animals from different continents can roam freely across large enclosures.
Jaguar Trail is a 1.2-kilometer trail around the Swan Lake where more than 50 species of small animals live surrounded by beautiful flower gardens. Savanna Safari is home to more than 34 species and 320 animals from the African savanna including zebras, giraffes, and wildebeests.
Predator Prowl, on the other hand, has more than 27 species and 200 carnivorous animals including lions, Asian black bears, tigers, and crocodiles.
Aside from the main safari, the Chiang Mai Night Safari also has a resort composed of five houses and a pavilion with a restaurant, Fun Plaza and colorful musical fountain.
