Pulau Payar Marine Park
Turquoise waters, rich marine life, and a relaxing atmosphere make Pulau Payar Marine Park the perfect place for a getaway. Located 30 kilometers south of the main island of Langkawi, the 45-minute boat ride from the Kuah jetty point will take you to the stunning marine park where you’ll get to explore four islands—Pulau Payar, Pulau Kaca, Pulau Lembu, and Pulau Segantang—over two nautical miles.
Pulau Payar is the park’s biggest attraction and it boasts of a Coral Garden, a secluded part of the park where corals are protected due to its sheltered waters.
To maintain its condition, none of the islands in the marine park are inhabited and fishing is strictly regulated by the Fisheries Department of Kedah. If you want to explore the park on your own, you have to get permission from the authorities or join a tour group that will not only take you to Pulau Payar Marine Park but also the rest of Langkawi.
Pulau Payar Marine Park has a wide range of facilities that visitors can enjoy including barbeque pits, picnic tables and gazebos spread throughout the park. So if you like to go snorkeling, diving or just laze by the beach, make sure to drop by the marine park.
