Natural Wonders in Mauritius
Mauritius is an island country where some of the world’s most unique natural wonders are found, including natural parks with exotic flora and fauna and untouched beaches with crystal-clear and scenic craters.
One of the most popular natural wonders in Mauritius that are truly worth exploring is the 7 Coloured Earths, which is a geological wonder that changes with the winds and has layers of volcanic rock, which is rich with aluminum and iron, giving the dunes their brilliant blue and red colors.
There is also the Black River Gorges National Park that extends over 6,574 hectares of land and is the largest of the native forests of the country. This region of greens was developed on lava flows, which is why the soil here is deep with dark brown in color, with only a few bare rocks exposed.
If you love hiking, then you can go to the Grand Bassin, which is a natural lake located at the top of one of the country’s dormant volcanoes. During your Mauritius Holiday trip, you would find Hindus worshiping at its sacred waters. And if you are looking for a refreshing dip after some exploration, your destination should be the Chamarel Waterfall, which is known for having thundering waters that plunge some 100 meters into a clear and turquois pool.
